Errata: This show was part of a 10 night stand at Madison Square Garden, and I had availability to tickets for all 10 nights (I only attended 4 of them, including this one). The last two shows were taped, and the final show (seen here) was edited to an HBO special. The subsequently released DVD has performances from both nights. On the night before this, my wife and daughter (then 14 years old) can be seen in the front row on the DVD during the song "Light of Day". I took a pass on the show that night. Their tickets were the worst seats in the house, way up top in the very last row. They arrived very early, taking their assigned seats. Soon, a gentleman dressed like Jake and Elwood Blues and carrying a walkie talkie asked to see their tickets. He took their tickets away, gave them front row tickets and escorted them to their new seats. It's a "Springsteen concert thing". They are called the "Men in Black" and "Yes, Virginia. They do exist".

When I saw Springsteen back in 1985 there was a girl there by herself that knew every single word to every single song. Bruce fans are next level devoted! This was the only concert I ever attended where were no people walking around the outer concourse...I mean, it was totally deserted.

I sat in those seats behind the stage at THIS show and they were surprisingly good. This was before the era of big screens, but there was a small screen we could see, and it was cool seeing the crowd from the band’s view. They also made sure to play to the crowd behind the stage a lot too. I would prefer seats in front of the stage but would not hesitate to sit behind the stage to see Bruce again if I had to.

That full house you see was two weeks of sold out shows at Madison Square Garden. I've Bruce many times, and saw him in Austin on this tour.

Check out Rosalita from Bruce Springsteen live in 1978 in Phoenix. It's incredibly energetic and borderline crazy.

Behind the stage are some of the best seats at a Bruce Springsteen concert..

Everybody who does Sprinsteen reactions fail to recognize one of the most complicated compositions he wrote, before he turned 21. Kitty's Back from the The Odeon in 75 will bring an appreciation as to how great a music composer he is. I have not seen a reaction to this song. I beg of you, to hear the band in all its glory please react to this song. Roy Bitten's piano solo has nothing to be compared with. Max and Gary Tallon with the beat and bass runs out of this world. And to see it live. I saw this concert in 1976 and just saw him for the last time 2 weeks ago. 4 times thru the years. Never once under 3 1\2 hours. Never once virtually speechless after every show. The first one was with my best friend who stated leaving the venue, "we just seen the greatest show we will ever see". This last one with my daughter, who stated "I better see what you have been talking about for almost 50 years' She teared at the end now knowing what dad was talking about. I have a year to live they tell me...but this last show....prooves to me one more time...Bruce is the best. My last show. So Kitty's Back?
