For those that didn't get what happened at the end of the battle, Discord pulled a fast one on Bill by luring him back into the Nightmare Realm. Basically as someone on TV Tropes put it, he lost the battle but won the war.

Bill lost. Plain and simple. Bill may be a being of chaos, but Discord is the not the spirit of chaos the the frigging LORD OF CHAOS. Bill's being trapped in the realm of nightmares is a loss because he can't affect other realms until he breaks free. While Discord is free to cause mischief any place he wants.

Let people enjoy the story they made. The animation has no effect on the result, but it’s still fun to get more out of it than just “X kills Y.”

If you're still wondering, the ciphered bits in Bill's rundown are: - "I DON'T EVEN LIKE CHICKEN WINGS" (Vignerre cipher: SEPHIROTH) - "ELEVEN DEEZ NUTS HAH" (Atbash cipher)

Even bigger mystery is that nobody seems to know where people got the idea that Sephiroth is the key for that first cryptogram. Because without any source to back up this claim, for all we know the key could be anything. Sure, the whole Sephiroth vs. Bill Cipher reference is cool but how did people know the right key?

Okay, now I'm concerned you're gonna be the next victim... Funny thing is your friend was kind of right. Discord may have lost the fight, but he tricked Bill back to his home dimension, saving Equestria and his friends in a noble sacrifice. Bill may have won the battle, but in my view, Discord won the war. Plus, it was said that Discord could come back to life, but after a period of time. I'd imagine he'd crash his own memorial service back in Equestria. 😄 "I feel like there's an Easter Egg somewhere in that." Dude, there were Easter Eggs *everywhere*! 😆

They could've went the route of bill tricking discord and him losing his powers, wouldn't be hard, discord already had it happen multiple times. This ending was nicer to everyone involved.

At first I thought this was a stretch, then I thought about it. Dr strange vs dr fate was a good fight but not so much entertaining strangeness, Deadpool vs Mask was strange, but not much of a fight. This fight did in fact bridge the gap between them excellently making for, what I would argue, one of the best episodes in death battle.

Discord sacrificed himself to save equestria and the pony’s while trapping Bill Cipher in the Nightmare Realm so Bill may have won the fight but Discord won the War, also Discord isn’t “dead” he will come back, he is just out for a while (Death Battle even stated this at the ending analysis)

Wow an episode i disagree with the virdict on but still loved? First time for everything. I really hope to see more Sailor Moon characters. Sailor Moon vs Super Girl and Sailor Mercury vs Tecna are among my most wanted. Also more MLP would be fun since they showed how OP that world is. Tirek vs Moro and Luna vs Darkrai are legit good ones and are actually close

Ok i have a couple gripes with this episode 1. Having one of the factors be "bill is more ruthless and bloodthirsty" when morals aren't supposed to be a factor in death battles 2. Them trying to get us to believe that discord would be lax and chill whilst fighting another chaos god 3.Being all "Discord can do ANYTHING he can think of" and then being all "Well he can't do..."

I think the morals are just for stuff like killing and anything to PREVENT the battle, like how Batman doesn’t kill and doesn’t use guns, the killing part stops the battle but the gun part isn’t important and is genuinely part of the character

Discord was never shown being Destroyed, but since Cosmos was and since she's the same species as Discord, you could assume that he can be destroyed as well. What Discord was lacking though is feat regarding coming back from being destroyed physically and Spiritually. Though he will reform since he's the embodiment of Chaos, the time it would take was never stated.

The arguments don't hold much ground when you actually look into them... but holy hell that episode was amazing easily the best episode of the season.

personally im fine with it ending but Bill still had weakness Discord could have used, take Unicorn Hair for example, they said it couldnt steal his power but it clearly could stop it, Discord could have just made a Barrier out of Unicorn Hair from Gravity Falls and Boom Bill was trapped, we know Bill never made it past that Barrier, it feels they wanted Bill to win cause a few feats where made up, like the it wouldnt steal his Magic even tho it clearly does sicne he cant use it past the barrier, the fact he needs to regenerate parts, while Discord doesnt need to or that they just made up the fact that Bill would get stronger the longer he was in the real world oh and of course them arguing he can turn bigger then the World despite this being a visual he has shown Ford not something that actually happend but for that i will accept it since yes Bill wouldnt show Ford something he couldnt actually do
