Pranking a new coworker can backfire, at my first job they send out a new colleague to get a 'plintenleer' a plint being a skirt, the strip of wood at the base of the wall, its about 5 cm high. a leer is a ladder. It's a nonexistent tool. He knew they tried to prank him, so he went to the river and sat in the sun until the end of the day. He returned to say that he hadn't found it. they never did that again.

AH yes, I remember my time as an apprentice (at that time I was 36 and had shifted from IT to construction) and my groupleader (not sure what it is called in English, but sjakbajs in Danish) said that the youngest of the group had to clean up the work area before we could go home. So I asked him how old he was, he replied with 34, so my reply was, well have fun cleaning up than :) ( the others in the group were over 40 and had a blast)

I used to work in the office. On my first day at the Buitengewone Pensioenraad, I had to search the archives for the file folder with the lost data. The archive manager was in the plot and sent me to a dark corner. There I found some very interesting files about Dutch resistance in WW2. Well, time flew and they had to force me out with threats. Anyway, I never stopped reading till I had gone through the complete archive.

And instead of protecting and caring for our ancestors and cultural heritage they have decided to throw it all in the bin. Its a shame to lose such important and wonderful things.

We both love banter And yes with the apprentice ... often they need too grab some none existing tools so they look like a idiot serching for it etc or the trap them in boxes or tape etc etc. The apprentice with the yellow hat had to fill up a spirit lvl tool with watertab , his workingmate said it wasent complety full due the empty bubble in the center xD And the shoveling guy you called pro... he is filling up a shovelcrane xD to dumb too figger out the crane can dig 20x faster xD thats also a apprentice joke

That was really funny, when they were taking the micky out of the young apprentice. Do you see that airbulb in there: it still needs some water filled up, to get rid of that airbulb. I’ve mostly worked office jobs, but the idea of pulling pranks on colleagues, especially new ones, is a general Dutch thing. What must be mentioned though, not particularly in this video, but most pranks pulled at work concern people not following safety guidelines or policies. It’s to teach them a lesson in a harsh but funny way. For instance I dropped my company card on the floor, a colleague found it and said the punishment was to buy them snacks. He was surprised when I did actually bought 2 packs of stroopwafels.

I worked at an IT support call center during uni in the evening shift, they had a rule that if anyone forgot to lock his computer when you left your desk you had to buy pie for the whole shift. Sure enough every time there was a new guy we were guaranteed to get pie twice a week for a while. I fell for it too lol. The way we'd do it is we wouldnt say anything immediately but change the dudes desktop background to a picture of a bare-chested David Hasselhoff and then put their applications back up, fifteen minutes later you'd hear someone shout "ah fuck" when they noticed it hahaha

En als je dan eenmaal klaar bent met stampen, dan ga je mooi op huis aan. English: This is a wacker stamper and if you want to work with it, you give it a little bit of gas. You shock it a little and then you pull this string or you first press that button there, and then you pull the string, and then it runs. And when you're that far and it runs, you can give it gas again and then it starts stamping. It starts stamping like crazy. And then you can work a little bit like that. Nice stamping!. And once you're done stamping, then you go home nicely.
