Jeff, this is Jeff from Edmond, Oklahoma (originally New Rochelle NEW YORK), anyway, the reason for my comment is that I watched your review of them doing Hallelujah, and correct me if I'm wrong, but like myself, did I detect a little tear when you wiped your eyes? If so, don't feel badly, I DID EXACTLY THE SAME THING as did my wife of 44 years! Their intensity evokes such emotion from me, and I'm sure from anyone with a heart that hears their sounds. Like yourself, every time I hear them sing I get teary eyed, as I did, also with Feel the love tonight from the Lion King. I got a THUMP from that as well. Music is a big part of my life, and I've become hypnotized by Pentatonix sound. They are absolutely incredible and their arrangements are Par Excellence! I've known, grown, with a number of musicians over the years, between life, so my attitudes about performers is extremely varied, and I still get a "THUMP" when I hear them sing, especially Hallelujah and Sounds of Silence, two of my favorite songs. Personally I wish that they'd do a version of Mr. Tambourine Man, my favorite song of all time! With their method of arranging it would be beyond compare, even Roger (Jim) McGuinn and Bob Dylan would probably love it! Turn, Turn, Turn might be another choice number for them as the melodic harmonies are right up their alley. I loved your assessment of them, from the first video to the rest of their videos. I think you're pretty much spot on, and you appear to be as hooked as am I since with each of your critiques, they seem to get deeper and more enthusiastic regarding Pentatonix, almost as if your regard for them is reaching a crescendo. I, personally, like the sound of their audio compression, I think it adds a dimension that with acapella might be missing. Oh, Yeah, and their rendition of Imagine just blew me away, being a died in the wool Beatles fan. As with you, and most who view Pentatonix videos, we all are hooked, It's Musical Heroin as far as I'm concerned. Keep up the good Jeff.......Jeff

You commented on how Avi said hey in a super low register. Avi had to learn how to speak in a higher tone than was particularly comfortable for him when his voice dropped in his teen years, just so that other people could hear him actually speak. So yes he did and probably just because it was more comfortable.
@charlottevan_83 жыл бұрын
In his live solo concerts, you get a taste of what his speaking voice is really like, in that lower register. If you want to see what I mean, here's him and his touring band back in August 2019 in Dallas doing "House of the Rising Sun". Listen to his spoken intro, and I do urge you to listen to the song. I agree with you regards Kirsty, she has an outstanding voice so crystal clear....and as for the rhythm section of Avi and Kevin they are just magicians with their flawless transitions and remember if your nodding your head or tapping your feet this due to them...Avi is so much more than just a bass. He and Kevin shared an apartment in the early years and they would teach each other techniques and really hone their craft. I love it when they are sitting in front so you can see how hard they work. I believe this was their second "evolution of" videos, which are truly a testament to their talents. I recommend watching them in order- it's fascinating to watch them just get better and better when you think it can't possibly get better than it is! The videos were released over the span of years so you see them really hone their skill. In approximate order: Evo of Music Evo of Michael Jackson Evo of Beyonce Evo of Rhianna Evo of Ariana Grande That doesn't even include the amazing 90s Dance Medley they recently released, which I feel should be included in their medley work just like Daft Punk, but both Daft Punk and the 90s medley had their own music videos and were not shot in the continuous format like the Evolution videos. That list also doesn't include some of the great medley work being done by Scott and Mitch through this time period on their own channel Superfruit. They also released an awesome album under that name - it's modern pop music, not a capella, but it's super fun and the music videos are really cool. I definitely recommend those as well.

The copyright issues are almost exclusively with their stuff with RCA/SME, so their earliest material (the couch videos, and the songs off their first three EPs), and all five of the evolution videos) are safe. Please don’t shy away from naming them each and go back if you need reminders/examples! Then you won’t skip just one person (Kirstin…) on accident 😂 It’s easy to do cuz her fantastic contributions are just more subtle and don’t often have the same kind of “wow” factor, but the group only exists on the level they do because of each one of them and what they each bring. Kirstin is a chameleon! In Evolution of Rihanna and Ariana Grande, you can hear her and Mitch switching who’s on melody, who’s higher, etc. It’s very well thought out based on timbre, range, desired balance, blend, etc. They both do it seamlessly in those videos, but I feel like that has been Kirstin’s secret weapon, especially, for a long time.

Hi, greetings from the Netherlands. This was so much fun to watch. Some great voices! I might have an interesting recommendation for you. Would you be interested in reacting to some symphonic metal? Try listening to Nightwish. They are a Finnish band and they’re top notch in this genre. Their singer, Dutchie Floor Jansen, has one of the best female voices in metal today. The Nightwish songcatalogue is vast. There are epic songs, like the one you I’m recommending now, but they can also go really heavy on you and the next song could be very celtic sounding or even jazzy…Their music is exceptionally well composed and the lyrics are very powerful and poetic. Nightwish is best appreciated LIVE. Give the song Ghost Love Score a try. It was recorded at Wacken 2013, in front of 82 000 people. You might be surprised kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIrNep9-jKd0jNE
