Wasn't this one fun? A great pick-me-up of a medley. And a bit of trivia- the little aside during Walk Like A Man? Was a cut shot to all their wives and Earl's husband. I love how they incorporate their families. But speaking of BTS, you should definitely check out their cover of Butter. Deejay Young is featured (he was in Man In the Mirror, which you've covered), and he always brings the fire. I saw that you've already covered the best rock-Eli out there in Carry On Wayward Son, but he tears it up pretty good in an older cover they did of Kiss, by Prince. And if you don't mind a live video, there's a fantastic one out there of Eli at the Bitter End, absolutely slaying Superstitious with the house band. (Earl does provide a few backing vocals, but it is all Eli's show). That video is on the VoicePlay official channel. Also, encouraging you to check out their newest release, the cover of the Halo theme. I've been shocked that so few reactors have watched it- it only has as many views as some of their minis! And that's a shame, because it is one of best pieces they have done to date. Not only are their some jaw-dropping vocal moments (more so than usual; Geoff now has a new lowest note), but because it is a piece that has a lot of personal meaning to them, and I feel like that deserves to be heard as well.

You should check out their cover of "Daddy Sang Bass"!! Or Tennessee whiskey!

I heard it took them some time to get those dance moves down but they made a good stab at it, despite a little bit of dad dancing at times :) It's a great mash up. Incidentally Eli did sing with rock groups when younger. And yes both Earl and J,None have now left and a new member Cesar de la Rosa has joined them.

Earl is the guy who was doing the super high notes in this video. He left the group over a year and a half ago, and he is seriously missed even to this day. He brought such wonderful energy to the group.

I feel like Voiceplay don't get enough credit for their dancing abilities in many of their videos. Sure, they might not be as slick at some of the moves as the original boybands, but bands like BTS are RIDICULOUSLY good dancers - way above average even for their own peer group, and the fact that Voiceplay even got close to replicating their choreography is impressive.

The Beatles were early 60's (63 ish) - I think J5 was a little later. Frankie Valli was really early too. The transitions were amazing. And Layne is such a good. Did you catch him facing the wrong way with J5? Check out Man in the Mirror. Pretty bittersweet. It was J's goodbye song. Apt as he was leaving for the Navy. And it introduces DeeJay Young as high tenor. He can really hit those high notes and does some pretty sweet runs. Looking forward to more.

I love how much Voiceplay content we’re getting lately!! If you want J’s best performance imo, you should definitely check out their song Trapped. It’s a Billie Eilish medley. Even if you’re not a fan of hers they absolutely slay it, and J is fantastic in it.

You were right on the mark with this one, as usual. Thanks! Would love to see you react to VP's cover of "Attention" by Charlie Puth. Forgive me if you've done it, I tried to check the links but the only one I found showed not only what you've done, but everyone else on the planet. So I did a youtube search and couldn't find a link to a reaction you've done of this. whew. ANYWAY - it's Rachel Potter again, being wonderful as always, but not in her Disney voice. It's a fascinating take on this song that I think is sterling - both as a video and as an arrangement/performance.

I'd definitely recommend Panic in 4 Minutes parts 1 and 2, as well as Butter. Honestly, you really can't go wrong with VoicePlay. Their recent release of the HALO theme featuring Scott Porter is *incredible*. I'm sure others have mentioned it, but Geoff is premiering his version of Monster Mash today, and it is excellent 😁

Thank you for this reaction! These guys are amazing. I only guessed The Beatles, BSB, One Direction and BTS but they sound just heavenly, it doesn't matter what songs those were, I loved it! Thank god these guys chose One Direction's Best Song Ever over a cliche What Makes You Beautiful :) I dug the "dancing" too xD Since you don't know about them, they're not typical Boyband with dance moves and coordinated clothes, they made power pop/pop rock music and sounded retty good imo. That's correct, Harry Styles is (or was?) a part of One Direction. The other guys are Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn, who left the band before they went on a break. All 5 have successful careers, all 5 make music in different genres, which is kinda ironic given the band's name. You should totally react to them at some point. They're very underrated if you think about it. Please, consider checking out some of their live performances or official music videos. I suggest to start with "Drag Me Down" (mv or live, no matter) or "Clouds" (live). They also did a cover of Wheatus's Teenage Dirtbag, it would be great if you reacted to it some time :) Trust me, you won't waste the time :)

This makes me want to see the behind the scenes of this video. I want to know how many times they had to do the dance steps. Also I didn't know they went that far back as well; as a child of the 90s, I was only thinking they would go back to like New Edition. But I was blown away by them going all the way back to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons!

Please react to VoicePlay's new cover of the Halo theme! It's absolutely mind-blowing. If you do check it out, make sure you listen to the tribute at the end - it's an extremely touching message about a friend they lost this year.

Awesome reaction. Voiceplay always does a fantastic job with their medley's, you should try their Lady Gaga Medley ARTPOP cover - the did it while on the Sing Off tour thing. I believe it's an actual live music video, I could be wrong. As for more rock covers, their Eleanor Rigby and You My Best Friend covers are a must listen.

I think the furthest one back that they did, that I recognized, was the Beatles (I Wanna Hold Your Hand). Which, I don't usually _think_ of the Beatles as "a boy band", but I guess they started out that way. Eh, before my time, in any case. There were several songs in the medley that I'd never heard before, however, so it's possible that there's an even earlier one in there, and I just didn't know what it was. Something from the fifties perhaps? Dunno. Before my time.

You're gonna give metal heads a bad rap not yelling and screaming (Kidding) being an instrumentalist first and vocalist second I appreciate your take on this music and it shows good music is good music regardless when it was made. Being 62 I have heard a crapload in my time. Keep up the great reviews you definitely have some good insights and verbalize them very well.

This was great! Love the reaction... Gonna have to recommend the comedy cover boy-band mashup collab with Peter Hollens and Jon Cozart. They use alternate lyrics and it is super silly and funny, all 90's boy bands unlike this one, and very tongue-in-cheek. I bet you'd get a big kick out of it! Have an awesome day! 🥰😁
