Jessica’s voice has always been first class. But who the hell did the cinematography and production. World class.

Set myself on fire to keep us warm ... some powerful lyrics delivered straight from the heart. I first heard this driving home with the radio on. Hadn't heard the intro so did not know who was singing, but ended up crying because the lyrics hit home and thought "this woman can sing". Of course she could - it was Jessica Mauboy - a very talented woman.

That's my new favourite of her songs, one I've never heard it before! I loved the simplicity of piano, clear voice and empty stage! Yes, I can relate to those words! Wow Jessica! 😃👍

One of my favourites of Jess’s. She has a new song out called I’m Sorry, and has an acoustic version on her YT page for anyone that is interested. Genuinely a brilliant artist. Show her some love. 🎉🎉🎉

Susie and Travis I loved your honest and sincere reaction to this sad but also beautiful song from Jess. Love your channel and Aussie support. Dearest Jessica, yes it was written with her mum in mind. Jess was only 16 when she auditioned for Australian Idol. She would have needed her mum for support and protection etc. But I think Jess became the 'mother' in that relationship.

She wrote the song about her mother. The rumour is she recorded the song and video in 1 take each. She wanted it real.

I love this song so much, and yet it's always a tough listen. The beauty, sweetness and vulnerability of Jess is so real here, she is also a powerful, strong and 'take no shit' kind of person, two sides to everyone. You're so insightful Suzi. ✌❤

You know Ive heard that some so many time. I've cried in the car the as Iv'e been driving (and trying to hide it from the kids in the back seat) But I've actually never seen the video for it. I'm a puddle right now. We absolutely love Jess, she's our collective daughter and sister.

This was written to her mother who hmm how do I say this.. Had more or less a mental breakdown after a loss and was not there for Jess when she needed her the most. It's about the up and down relationship between them. Someone sang this song on The Voice and Jess was a mess...edit the emotions are real in this video and her mother was off to the side watching.

I had no idea that her mum was there watching . Yes when you consider that she was only 16 when she auditioned for Idol at such a young age she would have needed her mum's support and protection....I think Jess became the 'mother' in the relationship....Gorgeous Jess we love her as the beautiful, courageous woman she is today.

@@justlinsu I watched a documentary on Jess and this song and her mum. From memory she was 8 when things changed, Jess's mum lost her mother and just didn't cope with the loss. I am pretty sure when she was on Australian Idol her mother was at one of the shows. Jess was runner up in 2006
