I'm addicted to Pisces reactions seriously there are 2 points in this song that gives me so much joy. Obviously 1 is the initial shock of Tati's growl 2 is at the end when once again she zigs when ya think she is going to zag. Btw everyone in this band stupid good/god like at what they do. Enjoy the live recordings festival videos.

The song is simply about the astrological sign Pisces and the duality of personalities associated with it. "Pisces" is generally considered one of their "lesser" songs(hard to go wrong with any Jinjer song, though) to most fans and is one of their slowest paced songs as well. It's mainly requested for the shock value, but it also serves as an excellent introduction to the band. I'd second the recommendation for "Perennial" Live at Wacken Open Air 2019. You'll also get a lot of recommendations for "Teacher, Teacher." As I said before though, you can't go wrong with any Jinjer song as they're all good.

The song is a singular narrative about an innocent and beautiful young woman, personified as a green fish, who naively believes the man she has fallen for will treat her well. He become callous and abusive. Destroying her "virgin innocence" and eventually her lustrous green armor is torn from her... "the emeralds are ripped away".

They're very eclectic. Some of their music is hardcore brutal. "Sit, Stay, Rollover", "Words of Wisdom", "Captain Clock" Some of their music is soft and jazzy. "Pisces", "Beggar's Dance" Some of their music is bluesy with no growls at all. "Bad Water" And some of their music is somewhere in between. "Perennial", "Teacher, Teacher", "I Speak Astronomy", "Pit of Consciousness"

Good reaction, very entertaining. You have a good ear. You're a lucky chap, you just walked into a musical gold mine. May I suggest "Teacher, Teacher" as the next step? It's heavy, shows off the band and the vocalist, gives you an idea of Tatiana's stage presence. If you want to go hard straight away, "Who is gonna be the one" live at Wacken (official video) should impress. Other heavy stuff - "Ape", "Sit, Stay, Roll Over". For a balanced view, "I Speak Astronomy", "Perennial" and "Judgement & Punishment" are all excellent. Honestly, there are very few Jinjer tracks I wouldn't recommend. They don't believe in filler.

Hint: She doesn't use her vocal cords to produce the "screams" (according to a number of professional vocal coaches who have reviewed this performance). The technique requires, among other things, extremely strong core (diaphragm) strength, & years of dedication & practice.

Truly special band! So much talent and originality in their sound. The song is about duality. Pisces is Tatiana´s zodiac sign, commonly associated with duality and bipolarism, that´s why the song is structured in this way with such a clear contrast between slow and heavy. another great band with an amazing female singer I think you should check out is Fit For Rivals and a great song to start with is 'Novocain' (if you would actually react to that I'll be your biggest fan lol)
@dwarvensmith804 жыл бұрын
First, the song is about the duality of Pisces, the astrology sign. It's supremely highlighted in her cleans against her growls. In the chorus the lyrics are 'scale armor belies/virgin innocence/one being brings life/another runs for death' x2, after she hits her belt it's 'then suffocate in painful tortures/on cutting tables of callous men/uner a knife of handsome butchers emeralds are ripped away', the emeralds referring to the scales of the fish. Tatiana, vocalist, is also a pisces. As others have stated teacher teacher is a good one, as well as prennial waken live, but I tend to go for the official napalm record release of Who Is Gonna Be The One live. Shows the band's energy on stage, Eugene's (bassist), Roman's (guitar), and Vlad's (drummer) amazing chops on their instruments as well as leaving no doubt of Tatiana's vocal destruction. Another intresting tidbit for this song. This Live Sessions version was done because the drummer that was with the band when this song was first recorded left the group and Vlad was brought in. They wanted him to put his personal style on the song. Not that the original isnt good, I like this one better
@tattooedman424 жыл бұрын
This is my favorite band that does music like this, but there are more bands out there with this style (female growlers) than you think. Just search for them on this site and you'll find them. Another good one is Infected Rain, and the singer for that band is a good friend of Tatiana's (Jinjer's singer). Enjoy.

Perennial, I Speak Astronomy, Teacher, Teacher, Judgement (& Punishment) all show her vocal ranges and prove that Tatiana can sing in ANY style, with flawless range, the ability to croon over metal guitars with her elegant singing voice, the ability to soar high in her clean vocals, punch you right in the gut with her scream technique, all the while merging just about any style of music together. Congratulations, your Jinjer virginity has been taken, now check out the rest of their catalog. They're downright amazing with their ability to be straight metal, switch time signatures on a dime, and lull you into false endings.

Long shot, but if you want another band you've probably never heard of, check out Alter Bridge. Blackbird is a standard starting place, but Cry of Achilles is also solid (just ignore the official video, it's fan made and distracts from the music imo), and then if you did that Words Darker Than Their Wings (live at the Royal Albert Hall) as it's a one time performance with a full orchestra but it's amazing.

I think I’ve heard one song from them before, called Metalingus. And I loved that song!! I’ll check those out 🤘🏻
