KD Lang Is perfection as a vocalist. I have had the privelege of hearing her Live in two concerts here in New Zealand and she was MAGIC both times !!!! Thanks for your reaction.

One of the highlights for me as well was a small crowd venue for a radio station fund raiser here in S. California...of course Hallelujah was on the menu ...

Lenard Cohen said in an interview that he was at that performance and he thought that was the best version of that song he's heard.

Sincere thanks for this sterling reaction!! One thing that struck me as we revisited this particular performance is the part the crowd plays in giving back to the artist. Probably not a more music-savvy group anywhere than a Juno crowd. A much loved Canadian artist coming back and giving back...

Thank you for that reaction. I might be a year late since you first aired it, but glad I finally came upon it. Your reaction as a musician was priceless. I've seen many musicians react to videos, but not while they played along, it was always before or after the performance...You played along while reacting to the video, which gave a new perspective as to how musicians feel when playing and listening to the singer. Most people ONLY pay attention to the performer, I pay attention to the people playing in the background, that is how I know whether a singer is moving. You can see it in the background, where no one else is watching. You, brought that to the forefront. The enjoyment I saw throughout the video, where you not only loved playing the music to a song you enjoy to play, but the singer, actually brought a joy to you while playing it. You smiled, you and reacted in ways that made me think while you were playing that is how you imagined the voice should match what was playing in your head....So thank you for that....It was really awesome watching someone play as they listened and reacted. It was quite refreshing.

Thanks for this and great reaction with detail about the history and Leonard Cohen. I believe Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan are among the best song writers of all time. I was able to hear Leonard Cohen live 4 times and will forever be in awe of his singing this song. His graveling voice was special and of course he delivered the song with feeling. You mentioned Jeff Buckley and I have always loved his version as well. I will add this one to my Cohen collection. Thanks!!!

kd owns this one and Leonard Cohen let her have it. It is a perfect interpretation of the sacred and profane inherent in Leonard Cohen’s work and within this song and it’s many, many verses. It is almost biblical and almost clinical and almost theatrical and almost pornographic. It is a wonderful expression of thoughts and feelings perfectly delivered by an angelic voice

As a Canadian this was of course a moment where it took her from a Canadian house hold name to the stratosphere in the music industry but one things Canadians will tell you......is where they were when she sang that song in 2010 Opening Vancouver Olympic Ceremonies. That's when you knew She was the Woman of the Country at the time. I really wanted Sarah MeLachlan to do well but we all will remember K.D. Lang in those opening Ceremonies now what, 21 years later?

Thank you so much for posting! Covid hit us and listening and watching everything kd. If I wanted to laugh I listened to her funny great country songs (1980's ......torch & twang) If I wanted calm and peace and go to sleep music I played everything after her country era. She has a voice like no other.

Thank you VM for reacting to one of my favourite musicans. You are comparing her singing to the ripple in the water. And this comparision to the movement of the water was the one I had when I was discovering kd lang long time ago. I would love to hear your reaction to many songs of kd lang, particularly from MTV Unplugged, such as 'Season of Hollow Soul', 'So it shell be', 'Wash me clean' (this one brings the water comparition for me), 'Barefoot'. She also performas the famous Roy Orbison's song 'Crying' there.
