Eric and Freddie passed away on the same day, same year, 24 NOV 1991. Eric had a very rare form of heart cancer. :( He is by far my favorite drummer. Check out Young and Wasted from 1984's Animalize Live! Eric is on lead vocals...killer song!

From about 1984 through 1990 KISS was in a typical "hair band" mode, with the mandatory power ballad mixed in with the rockers.

R.I.P Eric Carr. Not only a great song and Eric was fkn awesome. Let's remember that only a few days before this video was shot Eric had open heart surgery and under his shirt he was bandaged up and had like 180 stitches and still played like a monster even though he had to be in so much pain during this. A testament the kind person he was, heart and soul into everything he did.

Eric Carr was my favorite drummer great lineup there at that time. They took their makeup off in 1983 and didn't put it back on till 1996. So you'll see a lot of videos with them not wearing makeup. I believe their first video without makeup was either lick it up

The most shocking response from KISS fans came when they found out Paul Stanley co-wrote this with Michael Bolton. Bolton is the singer who had hits with Soul Provider and, incredibly, did an excellent remake of When A Man Loves a Woman. Not unheard or but still a one time collaboration that no one saw. The result was superb. KISS still does this in live shows. This song gained heavy rotation on MTV and this almost became the first top 5 song for the group. No - same year - 1991.

I dedicate this song to Sandy. The only true love I have ever known. I had many girl friends but this was different. She had an abusive boyfriend at the time and I wanted to take her away from that. Normally I would not get involved but we had a special connection. We were intended soul mates. You just know. We became best friends at work and soon fell in love. I even bought a ring and asked her to marry me. Not something I have ever done before. We got to share one night together and she told me " I love you so much it scares me. I would marry you but I need time. I have a lot on my plate right now." I said no problem. I will wait till hell freezes over if needed. The next day she was gone. Moved away and never told anyone. She left to get away from him and that meant leaving me behind as well. I was destroyed! I was suicidal until I realized that she loved me so much that she had to go to not only spare me from him coming after me but from her addictions as well. Sometimes true love means doing things that hurt for the greater good. I will always love her and maybe we can be together in the after life. It lasts forever so actually that would be even better! I know she would like that as well. See you on the other side my love!
