So bizarre. I was in the kitchen giving my dogies fresh water. Filling up their bowls, organizing the dishes for washing. Then out of the blue, this song popped into my head. I haven't heard Reason To Live in years. I graduated from high school in 1987. It was an intense time for me. I was playing in rock bands too. In fact I'm now a professional musician. I typed in the title here in the youtube world to go down memory lane and found your video and clicked on it instead of the official video for the song. I got a little choked up when you two started talking about the way things were in the 80's. Sigh... It was amazing. It was so great to see someone reacting to this song for the first time. I've been a KISS fan for years. They're part of the reason I became a professional musician. I guess you could say, they helped give me a "Reason To Live." See how I did that? Thank you gals. This really made me smile. Mission accomplished.

I'm not sure if you were aware of this fact. In 1984 drummer Rick Allen of Deaf Leppard lost his left arm in an almost fatal car accident. The band refused to go on tour until he was able to join them telling Rick he is their brother and won't perform without him on drums. Rick Allen plays drums for them to this day.

Ok I think all rock bands of the 80s mtv generation, especially hair metal bands, were coached and choreographed by the same group or at least with the same key clothing styles, guitar moves, dance moves, stage moves, camera looks , concert moves , etc... I personally loved it all and it’s so obvious after 30-40 years of watching videos but I’m a hair metal die hard fan. And I love KISS, Paul Stanley was hotter than the sun in the 80s, no makeup!!

These two have ZERO idea the influence KISS has had on pop music and pop culture in general. Arguably one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever. The reason you two feel as though youve heard this before but cant quite put your finger on it is because its a classic 80's power ballad that used this same basic formula that every 80s band used. The passive aggressive music, heavy guitars and keyboards with the big chorus that is so easy to sing along with. Just about any 80's power ballad can have that, "Ive heard this but I dont know where", feel to it.

I’m a KISS fan, but I always liked this song because of the late drummer, Eric Carr. He was replacing part of the original lineup, and passed away in his early 30s, but he played and sang the hell out of this song. Even when it zooms in on him, he is going for broke.
