My favourite band. Great song. Revenge is such a great album. This acoustic version from unplugged is fabulous.

Yep - favourite band! Revenge rocks from start to finish. And MTV Unplugged is awesome. Showcases the writing and talent of all KISS lineups to that date.

This brilliant song came at an interesting time for the band. They were between drummers - Eric Carr was slowly dying from cancer and too weak to play. I have no idea who plays the piano on the track. Eric Singer, the new drummer, played this on the unplugged acoustic version. The strange thing also was that this was a commercial flop for the band. Paul Stanley stated " It was the right song on the wrong record. He believed, and rightfully so, that everything else on Revenge was very heavy and this ballad just slows the pace and power of the record.

I've been a fan since the very beginning, so I love KISS. But the hatred for these guys always kind of amazed me. People always labeled them as a gimmick or just a marketing ploy but it's pretty clear they knew how to write catchy songs. They weren't virtuosos, they never even considered themselves musicians, they always said they were entertainers that happened to play music. I think most of the haters just couldn't get past the fact that KISS was mostly about having a good time, going to see a loud, theatrical show and seeing shit blow up.
@jeffreyflint62862 жыл бұрын
Way cool man. I've been a fan from the beginning too. We ate a lot of crap because we weren't big on the disco scene. As you said people would say just a gimmick. We all knew better didn't we. 🤟🤟. Rock and Roll and Kiss forever!

They did a whole tour stripped down to street clothes and a bare stage, just to prove that the music held up without the costumes and gimmicks. It did.

@jonstreng7850 Жыл бұрын
Not sure if it is their best ballad. Better than Beth but not quite as strong as Forever or, to me, Reason to Live from Crazy Nights. The biggest thing in common in all 3. The vocals by Paul Stanley are amazing on each.

You guys, Could you react to something from Kiss Symphony? The acoustic set or the electric
@princeofpcos98042 жыл бұрын
Van Halen has made a lot of bad decisions over the decades but refusing to do Unplugged is probably #1. With Sammy being an excellent guitarist himself + Eddie being GOAT + Mikey's harmonies + Al's tasteful chops that session would have been astounding.
