I was lucky to see them as a support band before they split up and they were as tight live as they were in the studio.

MTB forever, one of the only bands I know whose entire catalog doesnt have a miss and can go back to every single song for repeat listening. Unique sound all the way, and unlike GB it doesn't sound like something I'd hear in a commercial Also, MTB has such legacy and cousin roots (Botch, These Arms are Snakes, Russian Circles), a blessing of a rabbit hole.

haha weird these are both the two songs I love from these two bands and the only ones I really listen to. Minus the bear was when I was 15. Grizzly Bear, 32. Two weeks blows Pachuca Sunrise out of the water though in terms of level of complexity and those harmonies are only rivaled by the Beach Boys themselves. Wonderful song.

Minus the bear is my preference but I also love math rock and interesting time signatures. What's funny is that I grew up in NY and never heard of Grizzly Bear but I listened to Minus the Bear a lot growing up and their music reminds me of the past and makes me happy. I suggest other songs by them to really get their vibe. Oh and even weirder I now live in Seattle where Minus is from 😝 usually I'm east coast all the way especially musically because some of the best bands came out of my home like The Dear Hunter, Coheed and Cambria and Bayside but in this comparison it's Minus the Bear all the way for me. Check out a song by Bayside. What's great about them, TDH and Coheed is all of those bands have zero bad songs so it's worth it

@@ReactionsToTheClassics well I really appreciate that it means a lot to me. First off I'd really really suggest the song "The Bitter Suite I and II: Meeting Ms. Leading and Through the Dime" by The Dear Hunter kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4vWhqyFq7aJZrs really it's best to listen to their albums from front to back but this song is so fun and amazing and can definitely be appreciated by itself. For Bayside I suggest Objectivist on Fire kzbin.info/www/bejne/kH7Hd3t-otdnmKs it was hard to choose just one because they are just so good but I settled here because it's a good intro to them. 😊 I really hope you check them out and I appreciate your videos thanks for responding to me

Shawn and Trey, Nice facts on the songs. First song has a nice intro, then the pace picks up, the yempo is upbeat. I agree Shawn on the soundscape and nice guitars. I agree Trey that it is like Indie Rock. The music has a nice sound. Second song has a slower tempo but a heavier Rock sound. The bass and drums stand out along with other instruments making this instrumentally interesting. I understand what you said Shawn about the second song is better but the first song in more interesting. I will choose the first song as the winner. Nice soundscape on both songs David n this battle.

Thanks guys this is defiantly a coin toss pick for me. For Minus the Bear also check out "Memphis & 53rd" "This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" and "Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse." For Grizzly Bear check out "Southern Point" "Ready, Able" for more like "Two Weeks" and for more of there psychedelia sound try "Knife" " "Central and Remote" and "On a Neck, On a Spit" Thanks again guys!

Some other Minus the Bear's songs include "The Game Needed Me" and "My Time." The latter became kinda famous because I believe it was used as Blackberry's Theme song in their commercials back in the day.
