I would think he would want fans to actually care. When fans care, the sport actually grows and produces more opportunities. There is more than enough blame to go around, but in my opinion, one cannot fail and do just as bad in his job but publicly place blame on all his teammates. @@namesake7139 no... this is a probably a crucial point with only 0.02 sec lose. When you adjust baton in a 4x100, this mean that you have no choice and must change your baton position. This only happen when you think that you are likely to drop the baton when you pass it to the next guy. Just like if Usain Bolt run an anchor leg and lose only 0.02 sec, I would blame him for always switch the baton to the other hand when he catch the baton. Honestly, it is stupid in 4x100. And the most ridiculous thing is that they still broke the world record with such a terrible baton exchange and handle... My point is that you should't do anything that would waste your time while running 4x100. Before you blame him for running to slow, there are so many factors you have to introspect except the running part. You can't always expect that they could keep on the same condition in each race. Bromell is a good example. Just because it is hard to represent USA in 100m in Olympic, they have to adjust themselves to the best condition to win the USA Olympic trial which is 1 month before the Olympic. No one could keep his highest condition peak in a season for such a long time. If Bromell ran some 9.6x in Olympic, I would say "Ok. He reached his peak in Olympic. It was a good training schedule for Olympic." Apparently it didn't happen... Instead, he went all out in the USA trial. Yeah I mean the timing of USA Olympic trial is also a problem. So if you doubt why they could not run that fast, I could tell you that some of their conditions just fell off after the peak in USA Olympic trial. So before you blame him for this, take a look at the whole race they made. There are so many problems they have to fix except running.

Teams like USA, Jamaica and other countries that have several elite athletes, don't get many opportunities to do relay practice because these athletes are always doing different meets etc. with their own coaches prior to Olympics and World Championships. Then they have to focus on their individual events (heats, semis, finals) during the championships. Teams like Japan, Brazil, China etc. will always have better passes because they (most of their relay teams) train together more often. Jamaica won the women's 4x100 but didn't get the WR because of lack of training time.

@@joshkaters6108 Yeah ik, he shouldn't turn his head but he just said USA supposed give him the baton in front. If it didn't happen, and he saw China & Italy 1&2, you gotta expect Canada gonna be there as well. No need to say didn't see him like u thought 3rd place was easy. We was something similar with Noah Lyles in 200m couple days earlier when he slowed too much at the end because it's only heats and almost missed the final. And then guess who overtook him at the end to win gold? lol. DeGrasse had a great Olympics, sounds kinda disrespectful to say you didn't see him. It takes chemistry, preparation, and training with those running it. Italy won because they used the same people they used for a world championship In 2019. @dp2453
@dp2453 3 жыл бұрын
When I saw the 4x1 in Tokyo I was on the edge of my seat. But let me say this. I prayed for you and all of y’all tremendously. Because people (us spectators) can sit in the comforts of our homes and criticize heavily the work you guys do. I think we sometimes forget that this is you guys real lives. I can’t imagine having my picture plastered around the world subliminally insinuating that my team lost because of me. That’s really what happened. Every time I looked up I saw You on the news and on the internet. But I was waiting for this to come out so I can see what happened. Now as for track I haven’t ever ran track but I’m partial to it (and I’m a Cravon fan 🔌 😁 amongst a few others). So admittedly there are some things that I don’t fully understand or take into consideration. I do know enough to have seen before you ever slowed it down that Trayvon wasn’t doing it. I love that he loves God in this militant almost unkind type of way though. But Tokyo just wasn’t his best. I did see Fred do his thing in flat speed but I thought Ronnie took off too late. I didn’t know it was because Fred came in too fast. Maybe it was a little of both. I saw Ronnie completely uncomfortable almost his entire leg. But when I saw you I thought you would get us in. I thought back to when Mike didn’t get the stick to you and how you almost had to completely stop but you still was Blazin, and got 3 I think. But to be honest your posture looked off. I mean you already said something similar. I watched you so much that I can see your run a mile away and know that it’s you. So I definitely could see you were off. This is what I said to my son yesterday (he is a freshman playing D1 football and it’s fall camp and he’s have a hard time mentally with the transition up from high school, “Do not let the comments of others determine your mood or how you move. If they say bad things don’t let it bring you down and if they say good things don’t let it make you happy.” I’m saying the same to you now. Oh and for all that are saying Jamaica girls didn’t have much practice either, keep in mind Jamaica don’t have huge pool of girl to choose from. Three of those girls train together daily up until recently. So I mean it’s fair to assume that they have done this before. Time to look toward worlds!!!

As a sprinter before, I have to say something. You always have to sign at least 6 people on the list in each event and all of them should had practiced many times few days age before the Championship or Olympic start. During the Championship or Olympic, if these sprinters have their own adjustment workout but at the same and same place, they still have to line up and pass the baton together when they do some warm up jogging. After that, they just could focus on their workout of their individual event. Why some so many handoffs are better from school? They always do the thing I said above. Simply to say, this is what we call the discipline.
