Don't forget that Scott, Mitch and Kirstie were only 19 when they were on the show so their voices have matured since then. But what a great foundation on which to build. Plus all of them were obviously well trained because they were able to sing week after week without straining their vocal chords too badly. They deserve all of the success they've had.

I honestly really want a professional recording of 30 year old Scott doing this.... For....reasons... If that is what 19 year old Scott could do, I can only imagine it with the depth and control he has now. Although his intensity is impressive in this one and I suppose a 19 year old dude in the middle of a competition might produce a bit more of that desperation in his voice.

They had been through so much out in the world after the Sing Off and had gotten SO much more polished and professional. The judges were like proud parents welcoming them home. One of my favorite performances too!

If you follow the performances from mrduckbears channel all the songs go in order since yes some episodes had more than 1 song a night. As the groups progressed weekly there was fewer groups to fill up the show’s time so they all had to do more than one song. Their episodes on that channel also include any intro and outro from the performance. It’s a good thing this song was the same night as OMG. They totally redeemed themselves.

Thanks for the Sing Off content. Someone once commented that somewhere some Pentaholic would have looked up the birth rate statistic. I don’t know that anyone would. Scott earns his crown as King of the Riffs and Runs in the episode.

I’ve said it before…I think this is the one that won it for them. The Dog Days episode was icing on the cake and probably the 1st look at the PTX that has become an international icon! Great reaction and I hope we don’t have to wait WEEKS for you to finish the Sing Off!!!

I agree. THey had shown their creativity, drive and uniqueness. Here they showed their professional mastery of delivering a spectacular vocal performace. They didn't put too much of a spin of it and just perfromed it flawlessly. They showed that they knew when to pull back in the innovative part to just do a perfect performance.

If you listen to the audience, they are incredibly impressed. And i think these audiences are often times smaller than they want the viewer to think and they are made up of the other contestants and their crews. So the amount of praise from the audience they are getting is very telling of their amazingness.

Watching these you can’t hep but notice how much they improve with each song. I would like you to keep with Sing Off and finish it off but maybe that’s because Dogs Days was my favorite. 😂😂. Whatever you pick, I’ll be there. Enjoy the day. And I read a comment by a fan saying she did check the birth records and there was a spike. 😂😂😂

I think this is my favorite of all their Sing-Off performances. #12 is great, but I put this one just the slightest edge above it. Scott truly has a great voice for R&B. Seeing the reaction from the other groups, this was when it was crystal clear that they were all playing for 2nd place.

When they went on tour, they would often have an audience member come up and be crooned to using "Let's Get it On". There was always a girl who they put on stage in a chair and they would sing to her. There are many videos of these events, but the best one is...."Best Pentatonix Chair Girl Chicago Theater 3.8.15". Check it out! It is hysterical.

My favorite Chair girl was Esther Kaplan, tour manager, in the last show of 2015 European tour. Last show is usually prank show and Scott planned pranks for everyone except Mitch.

I have always wondered if Scott was supposed to grab the mic and start dancing around or not. It was pretty obvious that he was really feelin' it, so he probably had to do it in order to keep form exploding. This is my favorite out of The Sing Off performances.

I think this is the one moment when I knew for sure that PTX was like no other a cappella group before. Scotts raw, gritty R&B delivery just blew my mind. Honestly I don't remember many to their TSO songs but this one, "Dog Days are Over", and their return performance in the following season, when they literally blew the roof off and looked like the Harlem Globe Trotters taking out the trash. (Not that Home Free was... well... you know.)
