Yeah, this show called the Sing Off was around for a few years - Pentatonix won Season 3 - Scott, Kirstie and Mitch found Avi and Kevin right before they tried out as a group for the show.

Sort of... Yes they won but their contract was canceled the next week. They started making their own videos on KZbin and built their own fan base and their own fame and then a record label came knocking on their door and they got to write their own ticket. They did it all themselves.
