Prince has so many songs that are super popular but never made it to pop radio. The Sign O' The Times album is his "perfect" album. It was his peak of creativity and it was super solidly produced. Super tight double album. Watch the "Sign O' The Times" movie and you'll see what I am talking about. Absolute perfection as a musician.

Suzi nearly sang the same note Prince opened with before the video even started 😂 Yes, Prince did some acting. He was in the movies “Purple Rain” (which, along with the album, made him a megastar), “Under the Cherry Moon,” and “Graffiti Bridge.” He was also in an episode of “New Girl” and “Muppets Tonight.” He performed “Starfish & Coffee” on “Muppets Tonight.” He also had a concert film called “Sign O the Times.” Loved your reaction to this one as always! Thanks! 💜💜💜

Just another of many examples why we Prince fans see no comparison between him & Michael Jackson. I've been a Prince fan since '78, he was special from the beginning. And 'talented' doesn't even begin to describe him, lol. Thanks for the reaction!

why do you feel the need to validate prince’s talent by comparing him to michael? that’s just further proof of the gap between the two lol. Michael is the goat.

I just love watching you guys. U R so much fun. Prince is, was and always will be the G.O.A.T. There's noone like him. But as Eric Clapton once stated You either love him or you hate him there's no middle ground. Thanks for keeping Prince's legacy alive.

If you react to "It's a Beautiful Night" you'll see Prince on drums. He worked hard on all the instruments because he didn't want to rely on anyone when inspiration came.

For the commentators. Prince did several films. That was in the 1980s.

Thank you! Prince has been on the cover of most muscian magazines like Guitar World, Downbeat etc. He didn't just play over 20 instruments, he was a virtuoso on them. Yes, he has acted, others gave most examples. Piano was his 1st instrument, he learned (by ear, as a kid) the theme song to the 60s Batman TV series. Great pick JJ!

This was the concert in Germany broadcast on the same night in the UK which turned my 14 year old self into a Prince fan. I'd never seen or heard anything like it. Prince starred in 3 of his own movies. Purple Rain, Under The Cherry Moon and Grafitti Bridge. 4 if you count the Sign of The Times concert movie released in cinemas, which was the tour in 1987, a year before this one.

Also remember that this was in & around Prince's heyday, pretty much all of the 1980's & into the mid 1990s, the height of his career & life, the peak of his Bell curve, so to speak. He was around 30 years old here & he would still be with us in his 60's if he had not been dancing wildly with high heels for many years. Speaking of that, he was a great dancer/choreographer, along with being a singer, multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer, producer, actor, drawings (visual medium), etc. He also had a work ethic & also an ethicist when it came to rights/advocacy for musicians & also charitable causes. You don't really see many artists with that wide range of talents. He also "broke racial, gender, and socioeconomic barriers" (quoted from an article). My favorite song of his will probably be forever "1999", a protest on nuclear armament, released in 1982. I still have the lyrics I typed up (on typewriter) as a kid back then in the early 1980's, with some of my lyrics not quite accurate yet because I had to listen & translate it from the radio, when there were no official lyrics from a song book yet & the Internet we know today wasn't quite there yet (still transitioning from the Arpanet in those times). We have yet to hear all those thousands (possibly 8000 or more) of unreleased songs held in his "vault" posthumously & possibly never will, but we will have to wait & see. RIP. 06/12/24

As a 40+ year Uber Prince Fan, I highly recommend watching this whole concert, many of us self proclaimed “Prince freaks” consider this tour/show one of, if not the best. And for the full version of Star Fish and Coffee, hit the Sign O The Times album. And watch his performance of that song on an episode of The Muppets. Thx for reacting to this, love the piano medley on this. 😊

I saw this tour when it came to Toronto in the fall of 1988. It was done in the round just like the Welcome to America tour. He played a range of songs from his catalogue. He also played songs from the Black Album. Prince had so many hits he did medleys like this several times in the show.

OMGness, you 2 are so much fun! 🤗🤗Just subscribed, but I've seen a bunch of your reactions to Prince. An anointed genius, most definitely. 🙌 This medley is an interlude in the Lovesexy concert in Dortmund, 1988. It's sincerely 1 of my favorite things in all the world. 🙌💜🤗 Do yourselves a favor & watch the whole concert! There are M A N Y performances & studio recordings in Prince's catalogue that display his many gifts. Acoustic guitar: Live acoustic set from the Musicology tour, 2004, LA (there's also the same concert tour in Detroit). Vocal range: Check out "Solo" from the Come album, & "D*** U" from the "Love Symbol album (his unpronounceable Symbol was the title of the album). That gorgeous falsetto: "Somewhere Here On Earth" (another of my favorite things in all the world) from the Planet Earth album (There's a gorgeous live performance at Montreux 2009). Drums: "America" live in Paris 1985 (trying to remember if you've reacted to that 1). For real-- SO. MANY. THINGS. Happy listening! Stay blessed! 💜🤗🙌

You forget that you've also seen him on drums, you've heard one of the widest and wildest vocal ranges in rock and you've witnessed his vocal technique over the top. You add all that up and the result is that MJ is better.... LMFAO I love pissing off stupid blinded fans. Eee Eee 🤣🤣🤣
