Thank you so much!! Rory Gallagher (pronounced Gal--ah-her) was one of the top guitarists in the 70's & 80's. The Rolling Stones wanted him to replace Mick Taylor when he left, and both Canned Heat and Deep Purple wanted him as well. However, Rory was his own man and forged his own path. This video was a clip from the Tony Palmer movie "Irish Tour '74" documenting Rory's tour in Ireland during the height of the Troubles. Rory was one of the very few who would play Belfast every year, despite the constant bombing in the city. It's well worth a watch. For another very good piece, try checking out Rory playing "I Wonder Who" in Belfast 1984. Totally mind-blowing blues from a master. For great studio pieces, try taking a listen to "I Fall Apart", "Overnight Bag" or "Fuel to the Fire". All are more melodic pieces but feature some killer guitar work as well.
