DYWTYLM is an awful song on all levels. Sounds like an imagine dragons radio push. Sundowning is their best album but this one is solid. I’d argue granite is pretty bad as well. “Are you really okay?” Is just meh. I love ST but let’s not say this album is perfect.

This band has taken the whole world by storm, and I'm not mad about it. Everything they do is unique and beautiful and very heartfelt, so emotional, and I feel their music all the way down to my bones. Vessel's voice is so warm and comforting, but you can hear every emotion he tries to convey, and it sounds real.

I always saw the "diamonds in the trees pentagrams in the night sky" line as more of a scene descriptor. The diamonds in the trees could be street lights bleeding through the gaps in the leaves and the pentagrams in the night sky are the stars themselves. Coupled with "I can offer you a blacklit paradise," it sounds like he's offering a place of calm and beauty to the person who's the subject of the song.

Few starter tips, the band is anonymous, the band was formed when the lead singer named vessel was visited by an ancient diety called "sleep" in a dream, you won't be able to put them in a genre and last but not least all of their fans actively search for reactions on KZbin because the band was underground until this year essentially lol so for years we've just been shoving this band down our friends throats hoping they enjoy them too so their new rise to the spotlight with their latest album is exciting for the fan base in general. You'll be bombarded with song suggestions to react to but one that sleep token fans tend to love is a reaction to "bloodsport (from the room below)" by them. It's one of the most beautiful songs alot of people have ever heard and it's just vessel singing raw while playing piano.

Sleep Token is one of those bands that I have a hard time describing simply due to the fact that there's so many different aspects and nuance to just how their music makes one feel. There is a certain hypnotic tone to almost all of their music that draws the listener in that I've never experienced with any other band. Definitely a great reaction, and based off of how Sleep Token has been making their rounds, I genuinely hope this reaction "Ascends" to new heights and that we get more Sleep Token Reactions! :D

You should check out their song Granite. A little over 3 minutes of pure vibe and great lyrics. When you listen to Sleep Token, you have to understand that everything but the drums is made by one guy, he writes, sings, records and performs all of the instruments except for the drummer. Also, they are anonymous. They wear masks and no one knows who they are, the lead singer is Vessel, and the other band members are ii, iii, and iv. The drummer is ii, and they have some drum playthrough videos on their channel that are FIRE. Only a drummer who is so IN the pocket can play out of it like he does.

I always see the 'diamonds in the trees and pentagrams' line as referring to starts. The last song on the album has a line where he reminisces about laying beneath autumn trees. They start to lose their leaves so I though at night it would look like the stars (diamonds) are in the trees if you're laying beneath it. For me, the three albums took me on his journey of what seemed to be a single relationship that no matter how much he wanted it to work, it just didn't and ended up being toxic. Listen to Sundowning, This Will Become Your Tomb and then Take Me Back to Eden and you realise this cathartic journey Vessel has been taking you on.

It's ironic that you mention New York City with this track. I was late to the Sleep Token train (and to this video) and literally heard this track for the first time this weekend when I was walking Times Square with my family on vacation. You're 100% right to say that, in certain parts of the city, you can't see the sky past the highrises, skyscrapers, and all of the bright billboards and ads. With the little bit of research into this band I've done. I believe Vessel writes most of his songs about or to a certain love of his. But as most things in life Love is never perfect. Vessel plays on these imperfections to create this beautiful, amazing and absorbing music. Hopefully the love of his life loves it too. We do!

Yassss! Sleep Token are the best band I have ever come across and the recent album is definitely my AOTY! You should go down the rabbit hole now. They’re genre bending and use elements of everything from rock, metal, RnB, trap, hip hop, gospel, and more. Even if you don’t like one song don’t write them off as every song is different and as you can see from this one they switch up completely through the songs, also don’t be thrown off by some of them being 7-8 minutes long either as it goes by far too quickly. You should start at the beginning and work your way through as they tell a story and have call backs to a lot of them. The band are anonymous, I and others know who they are but won’t reveal out of respect to the band and fans but the singer goes by the moniker Vessel, drummer, who is a beast is II, bassist III and guitarist IV. From London UK. As far as their discography goes they brought out two EPs called One and Two, then 2 singles called Jaws and The Way That You Were, then the three albums Sundowning, The Place Will Become Your Tomb, then TMBTE (Take Me Back To Eden). They’ve done five covers that I’m aware of. One being Hey Ya by OutKast, I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston, Is It Really You? By Loathe and When The Party’s Over by Billie Eilish, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. His Vocal range I believe is B ♭2 to F#5 and he has a wonderful chest voice, head voice and scream. I have never hyper fixated on a band like I have with these! Loved the react and Will subscribe and hopefully see many more. 🖤
