As an outsider looking in, I began to read every book and watch every interview pertaining to Elvis many years ago. I wanted the perspective of those who were closest to Elvis. In doing so, I began to see Elvis in a different light, more so as a human and not so much Elvis, the entertainer. Although I now know that there has been a lot of gaslighting, I see it, and I have read it. And with all of that being said, every book and every interview I watched, everyone was consistent with the fact that Elvis was a humble man, he loved his fans , his mother, his family , and little lisa . Also consistent was the fact that Elvis was really no different than you and I , and if you cut him, he really would bleed just like you and I. I read Priscilla presley's book, " Elvis and Me" I watched the movie, I watched " Priscilla, " and it saddens me to see Priscilla rewriting history for the newer generation , and Elvis, the humble, loving , generous man has been lost in all of this, he's been painted in a different light painted far from the loving, kind, happy, humble man that he truly was. Elvis was silenced on August 16th, 1977, when God called him home . He's not here to defend himself he can't set history straight his voice is silenced, but still yet Priscilla continues to gaslight the world, her book and movie " Elvis and Me " and her movie " Priscilla " has so many inconsistencies you can literally compare the untruths and gaslighting by simply watching both movies...but most won't do that , the newer generation doesn't even know about Priscilla's movie " Elvis and Me". So Evis will go down in history as a sad , drug addicted man who appeared to be so unhappy because Priscilla divorced him . For someone who really loved Elvis as she claims, why would she portray Elvis in such a negative way? I hope and pray that those who really did love Elvis will stand up for him, be his voice , and stop the gaslighting. Don't let history portray Elvis in a negative light it's time the world learns who Priscilla really is. Don't let her lies be her truths stop letting her silence the truth because Elvis was so much more than just him and Priscilla . All the money in the world or earthly possessions wouldn't stop me from defending my loved ones. Especially those who can no longer defend themselves.

Danielle. 👋👋👋 The reason why no Elvis songs were played in the movie was because EPE did not allow it. They put out a stern statement where they stated that they had nothing to do with the movie and they had not consented to it. They also made it clear that none of it was filmed at Graceland. They were very upset especially Joel Weinshsnket who was very close to and fond of Lisa. They weren’t even aware that Priscilla had gone ahead with it so soon after Lisa had passed. They were upset. Sofia Coppola’ requested permission but EPE refused so no participation from EPE, no location allowed and no Elvis’ singing or songs played because EPE refused. They did state that they did not endorse the movie. You can find their official statement on line. 🤞

I thought the 1988 miniseries Elvis & Me was a world better. The whole thing came across as an attack on Elvis, so I definitely understand why Lisa Marie was so upset about it. I read that she emailed the director twice asking her not to release an inaccurate film that would hurt her father's legacy. Priscilla should be ashamed of herself.

My opinion of why she never mentions Billy and Jo is because she knows they tell the TRUTH and if she dares mention them, especially in a bad light, they’ll tell the truth and if it was me I’d do it LOUDLY. 💯 on point here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is exactly why she won’t mention anything to do with the Smith’s. I was going to mention the same thing to Billy & Jo last year when we talked about the times she spent with Pasty and Pricilla. This was when the talk of Pricilla’s was circulating. When the not so truthful Elvis movie came out, I’m sure she gained more attention and I’m sure that’s one big reason Billy wasn’t a talking part in the movie, he would definitely set things straight. She knows damn well that the minute the Smith family has the mic, her limelight would be more than over shadowed. Picture this….. right now she’s writing the story her own way, no proof readers or editors. If she was to give once ounce of any credit to the Smith’s, they would endanger what she has going for her. If she has the Smith’s proof reading and editing her every word, not much of her story would be published.

Lisa sent e-mails to Sophia Coppola. She called the script "shockingly vengeful, and contemptuous," as well as bringing scrutiny on Elvis's living grandchildren as they continue to grieve the loss of Lisa's son Benjamin. She said "my father only comes across as a predator and manipulator. As his daughter I don't read this and see any of this character in my father. I don't read and see any of my mother's perspective of my father. I read this and see your shockingly vengeful and contemptuous perspective and I don't understand why? I will be forced to be in a position where I will openly have to say how I feel about the film and go against you, my mother, and this film publicly." Lisa sent the e-mails in Sept. 2022. The LA Times said that the e-mail exchange did take place between Coppola and Lisa Marie. I'm glad that Lisa had a chance to speak up about this movie before she died. She didn't approve Agent Elvis neither. What mother does this to her daughter and grandchildren? Priscilla is all about herself, and could care less about Elvis's legacy, his family, and his fans.

Of course Priscilla hates your grandparents, Danielle. They know the truth and the truth is something that Priscilla does not want known. She lies to try and make herself look better than she is and to make her more money. She is nothing but an EX WIFE but wants people to believe she is Elvis' widow. If she gets buried at Graceland I will be fit to be tied! She does not belong there nor does she have the right to even associate her name with Elvis since she divorced Elvis to be with Stone and then more men than I can count after that. Her selfishness and greed is apparent in her keeping the Presley name and thinking more about $$money$$ than giving her son a legal father and name. Elvis has been a part of my life for 68 years and I can't imagine a day without hearing his beautiful voice. Oh how I agree with you, Danielle. I didn't care for most of the Elvis movie either. It was like the Priscilla and Jerry Schilling show. If one of the MM was included, then all should have been, including Billy and Marty Lacker. I also felt that Linda should have been included. She was a large part of Elvis' life for at least four years.

She's benefitted by using the Presley name..in her divorce papers she was not supposed to use the name..Elvis dies and she starts using the Presley name...people forget he almost lost Graceland because of her and her asking for two million after the original divorce agreement...then once he died she puts a lien against Graceland...then collects 900k a year from the estate to sit on the board and be the face of Graceland...now she wants to be buried at Graceland...I hope EPE Enterprises blocks this

But it is already settled. When she sued Lisa's will, one of the things she wanted was to be buried there and Riley allowed it. can you imagine Elvis going to see the meditation gardens and have to see her name there. We are not happy to say the least. They need to do a reversal on that decision. We Elvis fans do not want her near his grave. She married him know exactly what she was getting herself into and then she left him, couldn't even say she still loved him when asked, but after his death, she takes back his name which he did not want and suddenly she is crying her fake tears telling us how he was the love of his life. I heard that Lisa said to the movies director " Don't make me go public and denounce this movie" Because It portrayed Elvis in a bad light. I don't know what would make these people think that making Elvis and me into another movie would go over well, the TV version back in the 80s bombed and even her book, when it came out sold well at first, but when the reviews came all of a sudden it went from selling decently to not selling anywhere near the numbers they were expecting😮. And EPE said no to Elvis music being used in that movie! The point is her book AND the movie were about HER, not about Elvis😊 I guess we were supposed to feel sorry for her? Coppola purposely chose a girl the size of a pre-schooler to play Beaulieu and a 7 ft giant to play Elvis to accentuate the age difference in a visual way, too. The huge height difference subliminally makes people think "what is that adult doing with that child?" Very cheap methods. In real life, Elvis was 5'11" in bare feet and Beaulieu 5'2". Also: look at how the actress who portrayed Beaulieu looked in the movie at age 14 and how Beaulieu REALLY looked at that age: she looked significantly older than her age, everybody thought so.

I saw both the Priscilla movie and the Elvis movie. I saw both in the theater. I really liked the Elvis movie and felt it did Elvis proud!!! However, the Priscilla movie, IMO was simply awful. First, like you said, it looked very low production. Very dark in lighting, and it matched the mood. It made Priscilla look like a teenage victim and 'child bride" when in fact, Priscilla was hardly an innocent. She manipulated and plotted, even as a teenager, to worm her way into his life. It painted Elvis as . . . .very one-sided and put him in a bad light when he isn't here to defend himself. Like you said, it was badly done, but even worse - it was boring, and I could hardly sit through it. From what I understand, Lisa Marie was not happy about it.

I haven’t read all the comments on this thread so I may be repeating what others have written. It was on both Yahoo & Google that EPE & Sony Music denied the request for the rights to use any of Elvis’ music. The written communication from Lisa to Sophia Coppola was printed online for the public to read. That is evidence, not hearsay. This film is a slap in the face to Elvis. My personal opinion of her film was to bring back the focus of the eyes of the public onto Priscilla, after the success of the Luhrman Elvis film. She craves public adulation & acceptance. I did notice that she was excluded from the two annual Fan Events sponsored by Graceland (the 2023 Candlelight Vigil & 2024 Elvis Birthday Celebration). Seems she’s no longer the representative for the estate. (PS Your makeup today was beautiful)

I couldn't have said it better, Danielle. I watched that movie over the weekend. Years ago I read her book and I think it was based on that, but I found it odd that they showed her taking karate lessons in the movie, but in her book she it said she had a fling with the karate instructor. So she tried to make out like she was poor pitiful me but... like you said hell no! I also liked the Elvis movie much better. I met a lady back in October while visiting Graceland that used to work there when Lisa Marie was growing up there. She told me a lot of things that the Elvis movie got wrong and things that conflicted with what my tour guide said. Bless her. I want give her name, but she is a sweet, sweet lady. Anyway, I appreciate all you do for us and having a close relationship with your grandparents, as mine and my mother have long since passed.

That “Priscilla” movie pissed me off. She had no problem living off his money & his name her whole damn pathetic life but now that she’s got one foot in the grave she wants to destroy his legacy and make it about her. I can’t stand that woman. Look at her Wikipedia page, there’s a link there on the side of the page, (I think it may be under media or other reading) anyway there’s an article there from Women’s Day magazine. In the article the journalist is going to interview Priscilla after the divorce and she notes that her condo buzzer is now listed under “Priscilla Beaulieu.” She went back to Presley to get her foot in the door in Hollywood, she knew she was NOTHING without that golden Presley name. The fact that she enrolled Lisa Marie into Scientology after Elvis’s death is disrespectful and disgraceful. After Ben’s suicide many of his friends made a video on KZbin and stated that Scientology really did a number on his mind. It only stayed up for a couple days, I wonder why. Poor Lisa, reading the script to that movie must have been heartbreaking. I hope Riley gives Priscilla what she wants and buries her at Graceland, in the BARN. Just thinking about that movie and her motives gets me hot. 🥵

I have no desire to even see this movie but I appreciate your review. Over the years, I've seen so many movies and documentaries and read so many books about Elvis, all from different perspectives, and this movie is probably just more of the same (even though it's titled Priscilla). I know Priscilla lived at Graceland for several years before they married and I always wonder, if life there was so bad, why did she go on to marry Elvis? At any rate, I love watching all the Smith family's videos because they seem like the most down-to-earth and true-to-life about Elvis. He was the most gorgeous, talented superstar entertainer ever and I've been a fan all my life and always will be. But I'd just like to add that, between Billy and Elvis, I think Billy got the prettiest girl. Then and now.

If she had gone home, she and her parents who were her partners in crime setting a trap for Elvis in Germany, wouldn't have benefitted from all his money and fame. Priscilla constantly changes history, that's nothing new. I've heard from everyone that it looks very low budget also. As for the visuals, it's ridiculous! They purposely got an actor who's 6'5" and the actress for Priscilla is just under 5' so that he would tower over her, and make her look like a young innocent victim. Also in some of the stills I've seen and the trailer, she looks like a child - Priscilla never looked like that, and Elvis was not a giant next to her. It's infuriating.

September 2023 article. She sent those late in 2022. Priscilla always plays this drama queen victim in all her interviews as well as her book and movie. All you gotta do is watch the home movies and she’s always laughing and cutting up. She just needs to desperately get sympathy at Elvis’ expense. Pity me. Pity pity me. That’s how she always portrays her life with Elvis in all interviews after Elvis passed. While Elvis was still here….When she interviewed on many many magazines like Ladies Home Journal in 1973 she painted a different story of her life with Elvis as well as Photoplay 1973. Lisa slammed Sofia Coppola’ about this movie and asked Coppola to not do it as she would have to publicly go against Priscilla (her mom) and their relationship was already too fragile. Those emails were leaked to Variety in September 2023. Lisa was livid! Priscilla went ahead with it in spite of Lisa’s wishes soon after her death. I won’t mention the name of author of a very credible book that tells her true story from birth, Germany, etc. Priscilla tried to stop it from publishing but couldn’t. Court ruled in favor of the book. It’s sad that she doesn’t like anybody writing negatively about her and true to stop them but she has done that about Elvis for almost 50 years. I dislike the way she fussed Billy and Jo and who know what lies she told Lisa that she turned from them as well. Prayers for Billy. We love him. We appreciate and cherish him. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

I agree that this movie is terrible and misrepresents so many facts. Priscilla latched on to Elvis to obtain fame through him. She admitted to wanting an acting career and what better way to get that but to use Elvis. She was no innocent person during their whole relationship. As you stated, she was 17 years old when she finally met up with Elvis at Graceland, with her parents permission!! They both had affairs on each other so she is not a victim. This movie was frustrating on so many levels. The name "Priscilla" would not have been known without Elvis so she got what she wanted in the end. Anywho, I agree with everything you said on your review!! Particularly how she has treated the Smith side of the family. Terrible movie!!!

She made her life miserable, removing her from the life she was used to and familiar with, her cousins that she played with etc. She put her in Scientology school which Lisa said took years to get over. I heard that EPE did not give them permission to use Elvis music. I too hated the Elvis movie. It made him appear sooo depressed. I thought Austin did a great job but I’m shocked Lisa thought this was the best depiction of Elvis. There was nothing fun loving about how they protrayed him. That movie was from the Colonel point of view and about the controversial relationship they had during his career. It was stressful sometimes for Elvis and maybe this is the reason why most of his personality was left out. A shame but I think it's just because of the kind of narration they chose. That movie is not perfect but entertaining and visually stunning. From what I've read, this one is only boring 😂

all though i’m sure sometimes were hard being with the most famous person in the world at the time, i don’t feel bad. she knew how sought after he was, all the women he surrounded himself with, his hectic lifestyle when he was working etc. and she still wanted to be with him. she chose that life knowing who and how he was. if she wanted a normal life with a normal person who came home every night after 5pm she would’ve dated anybody else, but she didnt. and i used to like her, id ignore the bad press/what people said about her because she “seems so sweet” until lisa passed and she showed her true colors. suing elvis after their original divorce settlement & her granddaughter, constantly being seen in the media smiling having a grand old time after lisa passed promoting her new skincare line like nothing happened, how much she lies & changes her story. it just doesn’t right with me.

I will never understand the need for this movie to be made. Priscilla saying her story has never been told isn’t true. In 1988 her autobiography was made into a tv miniseries called, “Elvis & Me”. She and Jerry Schilling gave their input on the project. Back then she had the ability to use his name and his music unlike now. Notice the new one is called Priscilla not Priscilla & Elvis. There is a get video on KZbin explaining why she lost her rights to everything. Should be easy to google.

I am right there with you, Danielle, Priscilla was honestly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I didn't really expect to like it but I actually hated it. The actors were not believable, especially the actor who played Elvis. And to leave out everything that Priscilla did to help cause the demise of their marriage is to me just hypocritical. And what even was that ending? And if Priscilla didn't like the way she was being treated she absolutely could have gone back home to her parents.And you're absolutely right nobody takes it into consideration that although Priscilla was 14 when they met, she didn't move into Graceland until she was 17 and she was 21 when they married.

I saw it last night on MAX and tried to have an open mind. It was boring and both lead characters were dull and blah. I had to raise the volume all the way because the voices were so low. Lots of shots of her walking through halls looking bored and robotic. Like they were trying to be artsy and it was just so shallow and awkward. Elvis was one portrayed negatively and one dimensional. Can’t believe this was a real movie that actually made it to theaters.

The Priscilla movie was the most depressing movie I ever watched. Thank god Lisa Marie wasn't around to see it, just another way for her mother to break her heart. Priscilla made it seem like she didn't have an enjoyable life with Elvis, ever, she's constantly the victim in her own mind. I'm so happy Riley fought her to get her hands out of Graceland and I'm so happy EPE refused Sofia Coppola any and all music to that movie, they wouldn't even negotiate, it was a flat out NO. I can't wait for Riley to publish Lisa Marie memoir, she said Lisa Marie had been working on her memoir for 3-4yrs and that she owed it to her mother, LMP, to have it published.

I didn't even make it through the movie... You did better than me! The director flat out stated she wasn't making this movie for Elvis fans... so she didn't care what we thought... well... I bet she regrets that now because our thoughts equal dollars and from what I heard this film FLOPPED. Priscilla is no victim. She put her claws in, latched on and didn't let go until she was certain she'd be set for life... There is a clip of Lisa Marie talking about the Memphis Mafia and how they tried to steal Elvis' dignity (by writing books) and she hopes they go to or rot in hell or something like that... meanwhile her own mother lead the charge with her tasteless tell-all, taking away her father's dignity for sure! And you're right--Elvis isn't here to defend himself... for him the "hits" just keep coming... literally... hopefully Priscilla's tale sinks into silence where it belongs and we never have to see another remake of this "love story" ever again. It's pretty sad that I like other Elvis girlfriends/flings more so than I like his actual wife... I don't hate her... I just hate the narrative she keeps pumping out that the masses just keep eating up... and it's true--if you don't fit her narrative, she writes you out of the story...
