@Everyday Good Vibes I couldn’t find any splits, but rewatched the video in slo-mo. All I can confirm is that Bromell crossed the line like 10m into the race already in the lead. It looked like Crayvon was 2nd though at that point and he did have the 2nd best reaction time behind Bromell at 0.151 so I wouldn’t be surprised if he had the lead at some point early in the race. The athletes between maybe skew perception though with lanes 2-4 staggered behind bromell.
@SDesWriter3 жыл бұрын
@Everyday Good Vibes Micah actually had a bad start for him. Brommel is a good starter but Williams is the most consistent I've seen in years and the gun went off so fast he just wasn't ready. Even coming out slightly behind Brommel he definitely got to the 20 or 30 meter mark in first but because he doesn't have quite as much top end speed and endurance as the big guys, for him the race has to be won in the first 20 m. The tough thing is that everyone in that race is cool as hell and you can't root against any of them. You just want them all to do their best and you feel shitty for anybody who doesn't make it.

Brommel has it locked up. He's just a half step better than everybody else right now and the only race he's lost in a while was because he had a funky step and fell way behind. I'm thinking 9.79-9.81. the 200 is actually going to be a much more competitive race where anybody can win. How crazy would it be if Knighton actually pulled it off and you had a 17-year-old Olympic champion??? Running sub 10.0 and saying you just didn't have it that day..... Then again, Norman ran low 44's so it's not exactly like he was running badly. I'd really like to see the US dominate in the 200 and 400 to make up for the 100. It seems to me that Micah Williams stepped on his lane-line at the end of the race and should therefore be disqualified. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of all American sprinters, especially the Ducks; I am not attacking him personally at all. Still, I think the rules should lead to his disqualification, meaning his new Duck record should not count and he should probably not be on the Olympic team. On the other hand, I must be wrong somehow? Not sure what I am missing. Please fill me in. Thanks
@murdochty91493 жыл бұрын
I believe that as long as he doesn’t impede or interfere with another runner in any way then he would not be at risk for disqualification. Any disqualification likely would have been handled at the trials if he had impeded another athlete.
