If you want to experience Eli as Floki you had better react to VoicePlay singing My Mother Told Me. There he is definitely full-blooded viking. I think this is one of VoicePlay 's more beautiful songs vocally. Omar is stunning together with the others here.

From what I understand, not being a gamer. An Imperial barbarian, a Dunmer battlemage, a Bosmer archer, a Breton necromancer, and a Nord Jarl hang out in the Palace of Kings ready to belt out a classic. Geoff is an Imperial Barbarian, Cesar a Dunmer (dark elf) Battlemage, Omar a Bosmer (wood elf) Archer, Eli a Breton Necromancer, and Layne a Nord Jarl. They sing in Dovahzul ("Dragon-Voice"), the Dragon Language or Dragonish.

Omar was also in Superstition, and in Dream On. Wonderful voice. (also in some of the minis, and if you haven't listened to them, you should. If you want to use them in a reaction, you could do 2-3 together, they're typically about 60 seconds long - and extraordinary.)

Geoff once told a story about them performing at the Library of Congress. They had set up and were doing a sound check when the Secret Service came running up and stopped them. Evidentially, Geoff and Layne were setting off the alarms on the Constitution. After completely rearranging their setup, they were allowed to continue with the concert.

I enjoyed your reaction and am glad you liked this one. They are singing in the dragon language from the game. Their featured guest, Omar Cardona, use to work at Disney World with Cesar and they are best friends and roommates. Omar is also Voice Play's featured guest in "Dream On", "Superstition", "Carry On My Wayward Son" and some of their mini's. For a full Viking feel, you would love Voice Play's "My Mother Told Me".

I don't think the sound came from Geoff. However, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find out that it was Layne- he can make an absolutely ridiculously broad range of sounds, and his vocal range is actually a wee bit more extensive than Geoff's (if you're counting the pitches he can achieve with ingressive phonation). Add a little post-production magic, and Bob's your uncle!
@trufflesnuffle3108
@trufflesnuffle3108 2 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing ingressive phonation is what beatboxers would call inward bass. Beatboxers can do ridiculously low, demonic sounds doing that. Although, I would guess Layne would be doing a lip roll type sound to make that noise if anything
@CynicalTesuji
@CynicalTesuji 2 жыл бұрын
@@trufflesnuffle3108 No idea what beatboxer call it, as I don't really know much about how vocal percussion is produced. Ingressive phonation literally means making sound on an inhalation, but it's probably more of a blanket term for a variety of sounds than any specific technique.

Layne was going to be my guess too; I think he did something similar (albeit once, as opposed to repeatedly like here) in Hoist the Colours. And we know he can make some quite deep sounds -- the most obvious case is that thing he does in Enemy that I can only describe as "Layne's beatboxing warthog impression".

Dovahzul is the language of dragons. In Skyrim the main character (called Dovahkiin) can speak their language, because she/he is able to absorb the soul of dragons after killing them. Dragons and dragonslayers appeared in the same timeframe of Skyrims history under mysterious circumstances. "The dragonborn comes" is not a main song, more a niche bards piece, but has come popular more recently.

I’ve always taken for granted that these “bass sounds that sounded like massive drums” are done by Layne. He can go crazily deep and is amazing at different sounds! I don’t know though. Talking about “Vikings”, I’d love to see you react to VoicePlay’s “My Mother Told Me”. But I’ll be here for everything VoicePlay and Geoff Castelluci! 😊

That echoing bass drum noise 4:29 was Layne (beat boxer) putting the mic right up against his throat. He can do some pretty insane vocal acrobatics to get sounds in the "Geoff range."

Really enjoying your reactions to Voiceplay! I hope you keep them coming! May I suggest you do more of Geoff's solo work? I'd start with House of the Rising Sun, but really it's all great. Watch until the Patron list rolls, or you might miss something. Also, keep the closed captioning on, he throws in a little humor from time to time!

Play the game the language is dragonish and where you see a bit come their mouths is called a shout which you used to fight some Dragons the big bad Dragon is called Alduin. You can chose different races that what they dress up as. It is a good game but if you play unless you trying do not get turn into a vampire like my husband made me once. Also you join a thing that changes you into a werewolf. The shout to name a few is Ice one and a Fire one but alot more then that.
@whenisdinner2137

The language that was spoken in the middle was a made-up language for the game skyrim. That was supposed to represent dragon language called Dovazhul. When they said "Fus Ro Da" that is what's called a dragon shout. To humans it looks just like random shouting but to dragons it is something similar to like a spell chant. As a Dragonborn you have the soul of a dragon which allows you to use these dragon shouts and you could also absorb the soles of dragons that you kill which allows you to use more Dragon shouts. Fus Ro Da is the first one that most players encounter

@janetdw
@janetdw 2 жыл бұрын
@@jakeldk6811 it seems that most fantasy games, and indeed fantasy fiction of this style, seem to have their roots in both Norse mythology and Celtic mythology. I tend to get them mixed up sometimes because there are so many similarities since the Norseman basically invaded parts of Britain and there’s a lot of crossover. I know those dragons in the mythology of one or both.

Instead of making snotty remarks, why don’t you simply point out the fact without being bitchy. He was comparing the look of Eli‘s make up with that of the Vikings. And the Vikings wore a lot of facial tattoos that are very reminiscent of this. So he’s not off point. If you watch the cover of My Mother Told Me you would see the similarity. It’s really easy to sit back when you’re an observer and make all these critiques. Do you have your own channel? Can we go to your personal channel and make remarks like this. He already made it clear he wasn’t sure where some of this came from. Instead of being snotty you could’ve used this to educate just like a real grown-up. Geez
