Actually I believe Abraham cut into 3 refers to the 3 major Abrahamic religions. Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Man found God in these 3 religions and began to preach. After this comes the cost of a religious hive mind. Suffering. Sacrifice. Separation. Exploitation. Destruction. Sucking the aureate tongue refers to being forced to blindly trust prophets, when they claim to speak the word of God. Aureate means gold covered or golden.

@@KellyDeaconKDzJOY Kelly I really like your lyrics analysis. They are always very precise but in this case, you didn't talk about suffering, separation, and so on, derived from fanatism and abuse of power in religion, which is very explicit in the song, and it seems to me that you ommitted that part on purpose. If not my apologies to you. You may not agree with what is stated on the song but when analysing lyrics or any text one must be objective even though if one doesn't agree with the message given. I love your reactions and you are a very kind person and very emotional too. Please don't take my comment in a wrong way. My intention was to make a constructive critic. This is just my impression and my opinion. Keep Safe. Regards

Hi, Kelly. On the timeline and the theme of the song, this could very well have been the second song on the album. Noise I could have imagined hearing the rest of the record. But Thomas knows ... But about this song. Indeed, a live gig is expected and how the skeleton dance starts. The seismological vibrations of the earth have reportedly subsided during this exceptional period. Expected a statistical spike during Nightwish’s live concert as the skeleton dance begins to play.

As a proud member of the army, I have a ticket to see them in September. (Not sure if I'll be able to go, or what will occur due to this pandemic, and fact New York City was hit very hard with virus). If I get to go, you bet your bottom dollar I'll try this dance! Bazaar of heavens for a hive mind= I guess they refer to the fact that there are/has been innumerable amount of beliefs and religions for ppl to choose from, like a bazaar. Hive mind in my opinion refers to a fact that religions or any ideologies tend to create this collective way of thinking, where everyone believe in one single truth and demand submission of "self" to this collective dogma.

Tribal is basically the in-your-face version of Weak Fantasy. I must admit I overlooked that song for a longer time because it didn't do much for me musically, but lyrically both Tribal and Weak Fantasy ciriticise the same things. I always thought a better name the song would be "Tribal Poetry", which is also a line in it, but now that Tribal exists, they compliment each other. :)

Nightwish spoiled their fans. I never thought that one day I would find a 4-minute song too short. Ha ha. But if this song is longer than I think Kai will lose his arm, and that will be a disaster for us. I just read an interview in which he said that at first he felt like he needed 3 arms to play this song.

Hello KD. Great to see you again. This is not one of Nightwish's beautiful songs. However it is a very poignant observation of the human condition. We do have an innate need to find our place within society which leads us to separate into like minded groups. We tend to think of these clannish relationships as family, friends, or a locality such as community, town, state, and country. As well as ethnicity, gender, religious philosophy, and the very last and least consideration, human beings. We are constantly being forced to segregate ourselves into group think. Every government form asks you for your race, gender, economic status or political party affiliation. In my opinion Tribal is about all of these things that drive us apart instead of bringing us together. I am not sure of your religious philosophy, but these types of topics can be very disturbing to people with strong belief systems. However, Tuomas wants us all to open our minds to the bigger picture of our shared humanity and control our urges to separate into smaller tribal groups pitted against each other. If we put aside his comments on how religion, especially monotheism drives much of the history of turmoil and hatred for humanity throughout the last 3000 years, it comes down to a well known figure of speech. "United we stand, divided we fall"! A similar phrase also appears in the biblical New Testament - translated into English from the historic Greek in Mark 3:25 as "And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand". Humanity is that House. Be well Kelly and stay safe. Peace and love.
@janspiljard4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, the text you refer to here is about the devil healing people like Jesus did. If the devilcsrsrts healing his empire is internally divided. So the house in this case has nothing to do with humanity. It has to do with Satan.

I would like to comment on the hive mind and Abraham cut into three. A hive mind isn't just working together. A hive mind has one center or leader that controls the thoughts of the rest of the hive. The members of the hive do not have freedom to think their own things. This is a direct criticism on how religion sets a "truth" that all have to follow and criticism of the faith or dogma's thereof is therefore not allowed generally. It's thought control, thought police. As for Abraham cut into three, the explanation is more simple. There are three main religions that are also referred to as the Abrahamic religions, being Judaism, Islam and Christianity. Hence Abraham cut into three.
@KellyDeaconKDzJOY4 жыл бұрын
Very well thought out and excellent analysis. Thank you for sharing. I'm sure the hive or collective is exactly how you described. Cut into three makes sense as well. A more broad meaning covers exactly what the song is about. Well done!

I thought the same.... as if the song was missing the bridge, (as a segway to the final chorus). However, the skeleton dance provided that break in the music, that complimented the song/drums so perfectly. Kai is a beast on drums huh?!
@pickboaa4 жыл бұрын
Yeah thats true, we might be a bit spoiled as most of Nightwish songs are kindof long only this one and Sleeping sun i kindof think is a bit short. They are both great songs tho. The skeleton dance was awesome, will be interesting to see the crowd when they play it live. Yeah Kai is really good, he isnt the showman that Jukka was but is a great fit for Nightwish.

The verses from Genesis You had in your reaction video are of the covenant the LIVING God made with Abraham. An everlasting covenant. And yes the part about Abraham cut in three probably refers to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. But exactly the verse you had in your video show a contradiction with the lyrical part "man founds Gods and began to preach". Yes, man found many gods throughout history (idols). Abraham, however did not find God. The everlasting God and Creator of everything found Abraham. He is the God who was and is and is to come. The LIVING God, as i said before.
