I only recall him facing one Pain alone (Animal Path) before calling for (powerful) back-up. Pain returned the favor (3v3). The genjutsu of his help proved effective where Jiraiya's assist-based Sage attacks were just shy of futile (only good enough to stave them off for the song to finish). When the rest came out, it wasn't so much facing as in a fight as in a slaughter. Admirably, he escaped, but came back to take one, returned again for the final investigation and got murdered (his final victory was passing along a clue about what 'Pain' is, though not his abilities **others would have to suffer combat with him to pass that info along to Naruto so he wouldn't get bodied any harder than necessary**). To say he 'faced 6 of them' is exaggeration when taken as being able to actually fight all paths at once (one was already beyond him alone **with three being more than his Sage Arts could contend with**).

Even after seeing this scene so many times, I´m still having a hard time not to cry. Kakashi´s death really broke my heart. Not only because he died for real, but mainly because how they portrayed his moments after death, meeting up with his loved one, sitting with his dad at the camp fire. Kakashi has a really bad childhood and teenage life. His dad died and people thinks he was traitor for it, obito(his team mate and friend died giving him his eye to make him stronger and see the future together) and rin who kakashi promised to obito he would protect her, died so she couldn't hurt other people and save kakashi. Kakashi fought two strongest Pains and almost defeated both of them. Both the Deva and Asura are the strongest version of Pain. Kakashi fought two of them, without barely knowing any of their abilities and nearly wiped out the Deva Path. He deduced his attack instantly and made a plan right away. Had it not been for the Asura Path, the Deva Path would have been gone. If only Kakashi had more chakra reserves, he could have taken Deva Path down.
