In the game Scanlan already had access to dimension door, a teleport spell. This iteration is so much better 🤣🤣

In terms of how the Calamity started I recommend the 4 part mini series ON critical role called "The Calamity" each episode is 4 to 6 hours long but it's Fantastic! It'll also give you a bit deeper meaning with the lore and history of Vox Machina

Hmm I liked how u talked about Ank Harel. And how Kaylie would not be safe there if one of the dragons went there. But honestly, its probably the second safest place to be after Vassleheim. If they dont change some things in season 3, we will be visiting that city and get more lore about it and one of the dragons. Oh and about that move Scanlan and Vax did with the hand. Umbrasyl is an ancient dragon, at his age he needs a colonoscopy once in a while, and they were it.

I love how many people change their tune on the Matron of Ravens after this episode. I can understand why the idea of "death = evil" is a common idea, but in this, it's viewed as strictly neutral. Lawful even. She is very clear that she doesn't desire death, or relish in it, but her job is simply to preserve the dead to stay dead, and to ferry souls to where they should be in their afterlife. Her power is that moment between life and death, and Vax is her champion.

It's not even so much that the dead stay dead. It's more that those whose time it was stay dead. She's canonically willing to just not take people whose fate wasn't done and return them to life instead. She's as adamant a protector of fate/destiny as she is death.

Oh man, I would LOVE to see you guys react to EXU Calamity!! As others have said it's a 4 part mini campaign set in the Calamity, which is like 1000 years in the past, so there are no spoilers for Vox Machina or Mighty Nein. And it would be a great intro to watching DND campaigns in general, to help you guys decide if you like the format or not.

Vax doesn't know how people will die because fate isn't controlled by the Raven Queen. His job is to protect souls from things that are a corruption of life. Vampires, Zombies, Necromancers....basically all the shit they fought in season 1.

That said, she is the goddess of fate as well, but like she said, the threads of fate aren't marionette strings. She isn't controlling it, just seeing it and protecting it as well.

Like everyone i think reacting to exu calamity would be amazing. First though i think watching 'exandria: an intimate history, narrated by matt mercer' kzbin.info/www/bejne/eoqlfmajrrdsZ5Y would be better. it gives the broader context to the world in a short 10 min video.
