On Vax getting wings: Matt made the vestiges of divergence specifically because he wanted magical items that would level up with their wielder. So vestiges have 3 states: dormant, awakened, and exalted. When Vax first donned the armor it was dormant. He awakened it by earning the respect of the former Champion, Purvan Suul. And he exalted it by calling on the Matron, and finally letting go of his fear of Death.

I love that Scanlans fear is not just from him being the rational one in this situation, but because he just found out he's a dad. If he dies he'll never be able to be a father to his daughter. It's only right that her words encourage him to be the hero in the end

Green dragons just can't resist a good double-cross. If you go back to season 2 episode 1, just after they get chased through the tree, Grog talks to an angry looking little girl with bright green eyes. I think that was how Raishan found them.

Raishan joined the Chroma Conclave Because she was looking for answers to a particular problem she had and Thordak said he had answers. Then he went all Darth Vader: "I have altered the deal, pray I do not alter it further", so now she has decided to aid Vox Machina. And yeah, that was a hard-fought final battle. Thordak is the most powerful of the Chroma Conclave, but just because the others aren't as powerful as him does not mean they are weak. Ancient dragons pretty much start at "really really powerful" and go up from there. Also, if you fight them in their own lair, ingame they get something caller Lair Actions, which is the environment working for them, causing trouble un various ways to the players.

Anyone else think it’s funny that after being star struck with his return, the first thing Keyleth said one on one with Vax was about the safeword. Reminds me of how Garmilie had drawn them with KeyKey being his dommy mommy 😂

One other note: That opening scene, was just a dream sequence and a joke, right? Wellllllll.... Remember his line (paraphrasing) "And that's how I single handedly killed Umbrasyl while the others helped in miscellaneous ways"? Turns out it was brilliant foreshadowing!! 🙂 Your reactions to this have been a ton of fun. Thanks for doing the whole series! Can't wait for season 3, so I'm subscribing and checking out some of your other shows.

Scanlan getting the kill shot was so unexpected, I love how they keep things interesting for the fans who have watched the campaign

Glad you guys enjoyed this season. The next season should have a LOT of focus on Keyleth and Scanlan as their plots are pretty much set up now. Keyleth still has her Aramente but she also has to deal with the fact that 1/4 of her people were nearly wiped out when Thordak broke through from the Fire Plane. Scanlan now knows he has a daughter and a lot of his focus is going to be learning how to be a good man to be the type of father he wants his daughter to have and learning to give up his short-term pleasures for his long-term happiness and all the responsibilities and sacrifices that come with it. They also have 3 more dragons and a few more vestiges to find for those who don't have one. Out of all the characters, Scanlan's story is going to tear people's heart strings apart most, in my personal opinion.

DnD dragons don't have specific human forms, they have to learn shapeshifting magic. For example, Brimscythe shapeshifted to replace the real (dead) General Krieg.

Yennen has a birthmark on her cheek, Raishan in Yennen form does not.

Yeah, I checked the last episode Yennen appeared in and it looked like they deliberately made it difficult to see that part of her face, so she's probably been Raishan since at least The Killbox. She still had the birthmark when she described the tree for Keyleth though.

You definitely have free will in this world, but some have the ability to subtly alter fate. (In game, Vax had an ability to reroll 3 dice rolls a day) I take the threads of fate in the show to be a nod at the role the Dungeon Master plays at crafting a world and story, while the players choose how to interact with it.
