In the second example bond strength is not the reason behind the attack of iodide on phenyl ring..its wrong concept

Carbon is sp2 hybridised and has a partial double bond character making the bond more difficult to cleave. In addition to it, SN2 back side attack on the planar phenyl ring is not possible.

@@KhanAcademyIndiaEnglish the second reason is the main reason Sn2 reaction is not possible as back side attack of nucleophile will face repulsion of the electrons in the double bond of aromatic ring.
