It's not Home Free, it's SME. They went independent in 2019, and pretty much anything from the Dive Bar Saints album point on will not be blocked. The group actively encourages reactors now that they are on their own.

Not HF blocking you. HF loves reactors. All you need to do is recommend viewers visit their channel. Austin not only gives shout outs to reactors, but he also gives interviews (Patrol Gaming and Brad Steele latest).

You should be in the room when he hits those low notes!!! Have you heard the term " shake the rafters" ? Well it becomes reality when he hits those lows! I was there when he hit notes that vibrated the rafters so much that the confetti from a previous show rained down all over the stage on them multiple times. Heck, the seat you are sitting in even the floor under your feet vibrates like an earthquake happening. Its awesome!!!

This was the 2nd song I heard when I discovered Home Free last year. It is done in a reggae calypso beat. It showcases the higher & lower ranges of both Tim & Avi. That last note of Tim is impressive with how low he goes, but more impressive is how long he sustains the note. On the Sing Off show Tim goes even lower & he impressed the judges so much that they gave them a standing ovation. Also they mentioned that Tim is a true bass. Even his normal talking voice is super low. And Adam once again was stellar in his vocal percussion.

Sony Music Entertainment (SME) are the ones blocking you, not the groups. They are so strict, that they've been know to block reactions by the performers to the material they recorded. As has been mentioned a lot though - the last four years, Home Free has been independent, and free of label obligations, so any material after that they're more than happy that you use (it seems). *An Important Point* - over 90% of the audience watching your reactions know these videos (especially of what I call the A Capalla Triumvirate - Home Free, Pentatonix & VoicePlay) to the pixel, decidbel, note, chord, click, cluck, micro-second - these viewers more often wish to relive their reactions through you, others hope for something you spot that they missed. Point here is, you would not be faulted or blamed for filtering (eg. with your logo as a watermark overlay), or even replacing the video with an album cover, or picture of the group. Anyone else, if the recommendation and reaction is strong enough, I am certain, will be more than happy to click on the link to the original (copyrighted) material to view in all its glory for themselves. Enjoying your reactions a lot!

Thanks for the reaction...yeah that was Tim, lol. There are live videos that are insane with the vibration etc when he goes low. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will comment, but HF is very supportive of reactors. Most of the issues appear to be from the earlier videos. They have their own record label now which definitely eased the issue...but might still have some with the original artist they are covering. I rambled! Hope you get some clarity...but HF really do support the reaction channels wholeheartedly.

The original done when they were on the Sing Off is by far my preference. Home Free is so good that they don need that extra voice. I’ve been listening to them since I discovered them in Feb 2016, while recovering from rotator cuff surgery…..and have been following them faithfully. As for videos being blocked, from what I understand it’s what they did before they had their own label.

The big three a cappella groups have been described like this: Pentatonix is the Student Council, VoicePlay are the theater nerds and Home Free is holding the tailgate party in the parking lot. LOL (Sorry I can't attribute it to the original poster, but it's so true) Tim is the one who showed Avi and Geoff how to hit subharmonics I believe. There are videos with bass battles that are astounding. That being said, they are all good friends. If you want to see exactly what they're like try some of their live performances. I suggest Story Time with Tim when he does (Whip) Nae Nae and Guilty Pleasures where the skit derails because of the audience. It's them all over.

Thanks for reacting to this one! Such a treat to have both Avi and Tim singing on this one. The Homefries, Pentaholics and Pentafries all understand the situations with the blocks so pausing or placing filters so you can react and enjoy them is not a problem at all. They both had problems after they won the "Sing Off' with getting record contracts--they were told that acapella was a novelty that would not sell and people would not listen to acapella. The members of these groups are close friends and very supportive of all their talent and success. You may want to check out Tim and Avi's solo sites on line.

It's interesting to hear the judges comments. And yes, that's legit Tim's voice, he has a 5 octave range so he can sing as high and as low as he wants.

I have to say, I was smiling this whole song, watching you make your comments, and knowing what was coming in the song. I knew that each progression was going to blow your mind, and saying to myself "Just you wait, you'll see". Fun reaction. Many Home Fries (myself included) will easily tell you that Home Free has 4 tenors, 5 (mid-range) lower tenors/baritones, 3 baritone/basses, 2 true "basses" (including at least 1 basso profundo - very rare) and 5 beatboxers (including one genius/prodigy - Adam Rupp, but really they can ALL do the basic beatboxing).

Johnny Cash's wife June said that when she met Johnny and started falling for him she was still married to someone else. That probably weighed on her mind and sparked the song. Also, the guy on the left side of the video window with the black cowboy hat is Adam Rupp's brother Chris. Chris left the group but while he was there he was video setup person and editor. As such he has much insider knowledge of what went on behind his vids. Chris now has his own reaction channel and shares his knowledge as he reacts to the videos he setup. Yeah it’s not Home Free blocking you it’s Sony. When they won the Sing Off they won a Sony contract and Home Free wanted out of the contract after a few years. Personally, since Home Free has become popular I think Sony is blocking to give them a hard time. Now that they own their own music (since 2019) they won’t block and love their reactors so stick with them. June Carter met Johnny Cash and wrote this when she fell in love with Johnny while they were both married to other people. Avi has a really good voice but Tim hit that last note, a G#1 and held it for 13 seconds!! Both Pentatonix and Home Free are friends and they help each other. Another interesting note, when they sang this on the Sing Off Tim went even lower. You can see it on KZbin. That’s Tim’s real voice, no enhancement. Also if you love bass, you can see Tim sing Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens, it’s epic.

June Carter Cash wrote that song when she and Johnny Cash were having an affair. Johnny recorded it. As for Avi/ Ah Vee, He is a great bass and singer. He already had an opera position in hand when Scott of PTX found him and Avi decided to tale a chance on a yet non existent group. It really paid off for him financially but it took a horrific toll on his mental health. He left the group aft 6 years with them. They now have an adequate bass but they will never be great like they were with Avi. He has a lot of solo work on UT, perhaps you could react to something of his.

Since you are familiar with Tim's low range, I think you should react to, and are ready for, their cover of "Mayday". Just to see how low he can go. ;) After that, PLEASE react to Austin and Tim's fairly new cover of "My Maria". Not acapella, but such a fantastic song. As far as copyrights, it's not them. They love their Home fry fans and reactors. If you keep up this journey, you may get a shoutout or even a comment from them. They were a puppet for Sony Music Entertainment (SME), and thankfully broke out of that. They deserve better than some bigwig corporation telling them what to do or not do. As a side note, really sucks that the Yanks blew their wildcard spot to the Red Sox. Now I have to hear about it from all of my husbands (Bostonian) family!! I miss the good old days with Jeter, Justice, etc, on their winning streak!

That's a shame you keep getting copywrites. It isn't the guys as they love reactors. In fact, don't be surprised if one of them leaves a comment someday. They do that occasionally. 😉 It's just crazy that some reactors get hit and others don't - even on the same songs! A lot of the reactors use filters to help cut down on hits that seem to work. Great reaction!

Home Free, the group itself, has never blocked anyone. As a matter of fact, they openly encourage, and thank reactors, for promoting their music. There are plenty of comments below, explaining the situation, you encountered. Maybe do a little research, before blaming them, for your problems.

You said there were 18 seconds before copyright was an issue. Stopping every three seconds is overkill in my opinion. Just some constructive feedback if you want people to stick around.
