Next song is Pity Party! Also, if you pay attention to the Pity Party music video and the letters she's writing along with the lyrics, you'll find out what happens to her relationship with Johnny (the boy who is in both Soap and Training Wheels). Fun fact: Melanie originally recorded Soap as a quick phone video with her friends to meet a deadline. Later, she made her double feature music video of Soap and Training Wheels and she added the TV scene in the bathroom of the Soap music video that features snippets of her original music video.

Soap: Soap is a song that continues with the story of Cry baby, after getting away from the evil boy she met and ended up in the previous songs, now, after a while, she meets a new boy, whose name is known, and her name is Jhonny, she fell in love again, but this time, it is more difficult for her to declare herself and express herself because of what she lived with past love experiences, the metaphor of this song is; Feeling that you are going to be rejected and that you cannot declare yourself, because your mouth is washed with soap and you feel regret after declaring love, Cry baby does not want to be rejected, much less have a bad relationship like before, very much in accordance with what What did you say, she wants to fall in love again but she doesn't want to be manipulated again, she feels afraid because she doesn't want to get a bad response, so she washes her mouth with soap so that everything goes back to what it was at the beginning, and it's still a loop because she can't find the perfect way to tell Jhonny that she loves him. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE DOUBLE REACTION!!💗 I didn't expect you to choose this outfit, I loved your reaction and the way you interpreted the situation of the 2 music videos, Very Good Video
@Kourden Жыл бұрын
Training Wheels: After continuing with soap, in the last scene where Cry Baby can see Jhonny in the bathtub but he doesn't see her, which is a metaphor to say that he still doesn't know what Cry Baby feels about Jhonny, Cry Baby Decides To Go Out To Play With Johnny, After Waking Up And Having A Childish Moment, (which makes sense since they are children) Cry Baby Decides To Declare, Already Firm After The Fear He Had In Soap, This Takes A Little Time Because Cry Baby Was Still Puzzled With How To Tell Him, What This Song Talks About Is Emotional Dependency, In The Case Of This Video musical, of which Cry Baby has About Jhonny, The Training Wheels are the metaphor of which he talks about how Jhonny can ride his bike well with his training wheels, which symbolize the friendship of both characters, then Cry Baby decides to act and gets Jhonny to decide to take out the training wheels because Cry Baby wants to advance his relationship with him, he wants to be more than friends, however, Jhonny is not used to driving without them, so he can't reach Cry Baby and decides to get away from her, Cry Baby thought that it would work and that everything would continue, but in any relationship, more particularly in this one, in which they are too young to manage a relationship, Jhonny's reaction is understandable, it's just a Boy Like Cry Baby, But Unlike Cry Baby, She has more experience in love, with a bad relationship with the boy from the carousel, but she has, so after remembering her good times with Jhonny As Friends, Open The Eyes and realizes that Johnny couldn't learn to ride without his training wheels, and sadly, Cry Baby falls into a brief depression, and decides to go home after seeing that she was alone in the park. (Come home because tomorrow is a day of happiness or sadness that we all celebrate🎈🎉 The next one is pity party, I'll look forward to it)🥳 Once again, thank you very much for the double reaction, I liked it a lot, and I'll be back to clarify more about these songs💗💗

Loving the Melanie Martinez reaction videos! With soap I interpreted it as being with someone who can be emotionally abusive to the point where you’re walking on eggshells around them. ‘God I wish I never spoke now I gotta wash my mouth out with soap’ feels like she accidentally said something that made her partner upset and washing her mouth out with soap is a punishment (like you said) as a negative reinforcement
@amenkeshigomu6744 Жыл бұрын
Exactly!!
@jess_serin Жыл бұрын
I always interpreted the story to be about one person who wants more in a relationship, but the other doesn't so the (singer) punishes themselves whenever they bring it up. An abusive relationship makes more sense 😅

1. There are 2 soap music videos: the new one (the one you watched) and the old one (the part of which is shown on TV in the new music video). 2. The actor who played this guy is Melanie's fan from Brazil 3. Big eyes show that the character is in love (if I'm not mistaken, she was inspired by the snapchat filter). 4. She is really a very open person and easy to communicate even on difficult topics and I would say very wise. At least my impression is based on the stories of people who work with her and have worked before, as well as from interviews. I will be very interested to see your interview if (hopefully not if but when) it comes out. if there are any grammatical mistakes, all claims to the online translator

I have heard that Soap was really in relation to her boyfriend at the time, sort of at that vulnerable, insecure spot before or at the start of the relationship where she felt like she said things wrong or should/shouldn't say this and that, which probably makes sense with the visuals of them being kind of hesitant, and even in Training Wheels they're almost feral and scared of another person in a way. Also I think it's INCREDIBLY respectable for a songwriter to write something so layered. Like, being able to write a sort of clear cut message in a song is amazing enough cause you have to worry abt structure and delivery and everything, but like Melanie, she's also able to convey a separate story on top of it to add more plot and character building which in most cases makes it more relatable yet still have a lesson to be taken from it.

Always interesting how Crybaby's age changes. By the end of this album, she's certainly evolved into an adult, then in K-12 she's some kind of hybird who's both a toddler AND an adult simultaneously. Soap is definitely a Bop. Of course, she's not literally dropping a toaster. Glad you got the metaphor for self-sabotouguing a relationship. Training Wheels is definitely an interesting outlier on this album. Vulnerable, where the others are largely about dealing with trauma. I also think her acting is much better in these videos than in K-12. That took a step back there. It's certainly great in these two songs/the joint video.

I love how she relates these song with commitment, especially training wheels, how sometimes we put ourselves aside to help the other person learn, guide them through their process of finally letting their training wheels be taken off, just for them to ride the rest of the way without you or someone in the end. It hurts, but it's also part of the process of growing up and figuring out your own feelings and how to overcome the obstacles that rejection might cause. Loved the reaction Tom! ☺️

‘92 baby here and I had a problem with running my mouth a lot and definitely had my fair share of soap in my mouth. Very unintentional trauma for most, that’s why it’s unheard of in the new generations of parents. I have a 12 yr old and a 7 yr old, and have never and will never put soap in their mouths no matter what comes out of it. There’s other, healthier ways to rectify that. But I also always related to this song. Her lyrics are so true and deep!

Im writing this in the middle of the video, so I'm int sure if you got the message of Training wheels later. But... Training wheels is a metaphor for going into the next step of a young relationship that being staring a sexual relationship ship. In the story Johnny and Cry Baby are in love but to scared to go into the next step, Cry Baby feels ready but Johnny is still to shy, hence Cry Baby offering "band aids" as in she will make sure he feels safe wiht her and never fear to expose himslef to her (this can gk either wah ofc) but at the same time just because Cry Baby wants to start a sexual relationship with him she wants to calrify to him that this doesn't mean they are official or a "married" thats why she says that she's not asking to be his wife. This is why in Soap she is so doubtful about sharing her secret with him, she already told him she is in love she just hasn't shared her intimate feelings about sex.
