That's the legendary David Byron on vocals Mick Box on lead guitar & Gary Thain on bass. And that deafening Hammond. All brilliant musicians and remember this was produced in 1972! Way ahead of their time

Lead vocal - David Byron, Keyboards and vocals - Ken Hensley, Guitar - Mick Box, Gary Thain, Base and backup vocals, Drums - Lee Kerslake. Mick Box is the only surviving member of this line-up which is usually considered the classic line up. They are about to release a new recording even 50 years later. 40+ million sold overall. Check out an acoustic set with Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKjTg42leKx9sKM with the current band.

Favourite Heep tunes? So many to choose from. Basically 4 eras to choose from resulting from different lead vocalists - David Byron, John Lawton, Peter Goalby, and Bernie Shaw. A lot of fans dismiss anything but Byron vocals from their early days, but that is a mistake. My favourite vocalist is perhaps John Lawton. If Tom Jones ever got into hard/progressive rock he'd sound like Lawton. Powerful voice. Try Free n' Easy or The Dance. Bernie Shaw isn't any slouch either. Try 1995's Love in Silence or 2018's Living the Dream.
