Honestly, I get Ashley's logic to brush-off deluxe tracks, but sometimes, I can get *so* determined to buy deluxe albums because GURL, some of the songs can be absolute gems! Prime example: Halsey's Badlands. It may be a deluxe track, but you can't tell me Gasoline *didn't* go on to become one of her most famous songs! And in the case of Taylor, You Are in Love off 1989 is a masterpiece and we all know it. Even Ashley does too, as she's placed *both* those songs at the top of her tier list ranking videos. 👏😉

It's insane when Taylor talked about how much stress she was under when she was creating Speak Now. She had follow up Fearless after winning album of the year and it became the most awarded country album of all time. She just went through a public humiliation after Kanye ran on stage at the VMAs. She's being slut shamed and questioned as a songwriter and singer. Yet she still delivered this songwriting masterpiece at only 20 years old. Speak Now is finally getting the recognition it deserved and I'm so happy for it!

So before all that, i knew a few songs from the first 4 albums but i was like, 7 years old and i liked all of them but i had no idea who Taylor was lol i just really liked those 10 songs i heard on the radio. So i fully listened to speak now for the first time with the TV release and….oh my god i had the time of my life. i cried a lot and damced around and felt so much joy. I’m currently 20yo so it’s insane to think she wrote this at my current age and it also makes so much sense. the thing with Taylor’s music is whatever genre she does she still puts her mark into it. So it doesn’t matter what genre she does because they’re all so good. So if you skipped her other albums just because of the genre then you are missing out. Personally, I’m not a country fan but Taylor’s country music is just top tier. The Castles Crumbling parallels to Call it What You Want had me in tears. The fact that when she wrote CC she felt she was completely alone and it was all her fault, but in CIWYW she has someone, the fact that the metaphorical castle is gone is “alright” because she had Joe with her. When you said Taylor writes lyrics like she’s reading our diary, I felt that. I constantly have to like justify my intense love for Taylor, people don’t get it. And I always say “It’s not my fault she writes the lyrics of my life, I have no other reason but to stan”. And Taylor has honestly broken me in so many ways with the accuracy of her lyrics. Putting into words what I was feeling. It’s insane. BUT she deserves jail for When Emma Falls In Love, because who gave you the right to be inside my head. My mom and dad had best friends and they had a daughter who was born 4 days after me, same hospital just 2 rooms over. We basically grew up as sisters. And as much as I love her, I’ve always had this huge inferiority complex with her. Like, it’s something so deep from my childhood that is still there 30 years later, I can’t help it. And then Taylor writes this song and uses that name?! What do you mean??? When she said “To tell you the truth sometimes I wish I was her” like how dare you? The entire song is like she knows my Emma and knows what’s in my head. Anyway. This is why I love Taylor, but goddamn she doesn’t need to hurt me like that 🥲

When she said on her tour the other week about how her fans need to not attack those she wrote songs about back then, I took it as don’t say shitty things to Camilla Belle, because to nobody’s surprise, she’s had people in her comments giving her grief for Better Than Revenge ://

Somebody on TikTok said Castles Crumbling is for all the burnt out gifted kids and honestly how dare they attack us like that like ouch

I really adored listening to this album! It’s just such a magical and nostalgic album, and I loved the vault tracks too! Electric Touch and I Can See You were my favs from them for sure

Okay so I haven't been a TS fan for a while now (I think the last album of hers I really listened to was 1989) but this album was EVERYTHING to me when it came out (I think I was like 16 at the time). And I really did not expect it to hit so hard all these years later, but fuck!!! I had forgotten that 'Never Grow Up' sent me into instant tears as well lmao and apparently that is still true! What a trip.

The fact that we've gotten rerecordings of ENCHANTED, BACK TO DECEMBER, STORY OF US, AND DEAR JOHN, not only that, but you've also blessed with so many amazing vocals, our mothers are feeding us 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I got Long Live as a surprise song on my show and it was the most magical moment singing to her, seeing that smile hearing us kinda dedicate it to her… best moment ever 💜

Speak Now has always been in my yearly top 5 most listened to albums. I loved the TV of almost all the songs. The new vault tracks just make the album even better then it already was. Last Kiss is the only song I don’t care for the new version and will still listen to the stolen version.

That line- you made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter- sold me on Taylor. Back on 2017, pre-Rep when i was finally catching up, that was the line that told me blondie can WRITE. PS- I also have a careless (and absent) father 😂

speak now is so fun to me because its about hayley williams of paramore and a story about hayley being in love with an old paramore band member and having to watch him get married to another girl
