I really wanted to thank whomever is responsible for writing and organizing the descriptions in Mrs. Emily's videos. The organization with the timestamps is ALWAYS appreciated, but the addition of the corresponding links to the long form videos next to the topic are so helpful. I also appreciate the links to the mainstream media that feature our wonderful EDB and her incredibly helpful insight. It's obvious that a lot of thought and work goes into this part of the videos, and I know that I, personally, find it very helpful, and I am very appreciative of it, and I suspect that there are other Law Nerds who feel the same way. (Probably especially those of us who are extra neuro 🌶️ 😂!!!) So, again, thank you to Team Emily who works so hard every day to make such great, entertaining, educational content that is easy to follow and understand for all types of people!!! We appreciate all you!!! 💜💜💜

To those involved, know that we see all that extra effort you put in & it's greatly appreciated! 💜👍

I’m glad the govt is looking into PPP loans - would be great if they started coming for family vloggers who did the same!! Family vloggers are so exploitative of their children - there needs to be laws and protections in place. Currently the Cougan law doesn’t even apply - and these children are taken out of school, made to perform, have absolutely no privacy and are targets for all sorts of awful things. PPP loans are the least of the heinous acts these ‘parents’ have done.

I was a bank manager during the pandemic. It was so infuriating to watch people scam on these loans while others struggled and there was nothing we could do about it. Then to see those loans also got forgiven, was insane. Glad to see some are being held accountable. Also bought a house during the pandemic, it was crazy. @medea27
@medea27 Ай бұрын
@@sarastewart2633 You're assuming every landlord is some greedy rich person or a corporation... the property market is just like every industry, and there are _a lot_ of landlords who are small businesses in their own right. Retirees, people who inherhit the family home, small property investors. Businesses are symbiotic & once you impact one it has flow-on effects... commercial property was badly hit with shops & businesses shuttered, and those landlords in turn can't afford to pay for the services of _other_ small businesses like maintenance. But bills like local govt rates, loan repayments, power & water, tax, etc still keep coming in, even if the property is empty. Same thing with residential property. And just like there are bad landlords, there are bad tenants... in a lot of places the govt introduced "no eviction" legislation & rent price fixes so if you had bad tenants you were screwed even more than normal. So while these _sales_ agents might have been making bank during the pandemic, that's not the case for the rental property sector. Very different business.

McDonalds is a franchise business & most restaurants are small businesses who effectively "lease" the McDonalds brand... and let me assure you, McDonalds Head Office doesn't loan them money to keep their restaurants afloat or bail them out if they can't make payroll. Small McDonalds franchise owners are important employers in a lot of areas, and exactly who PPP loans were intended to help. The town where it happened is small, so 1) it will be much harder to find people without in-depth knowledge of the case simply because there are fewer people and it will have been a significant topic of conversation 2) a mass murder in any town, but especially a small one, feels personal to the people there and you run the very real risk of jurors just wanting to blame someone/get revenge without considering the State's case. It's not just about jurors having heard about the case. It's also whether they can recognize, acknowledge, and work through any bias they may have about the case, the victims, and the defendant

I am glad the government is going after the companies who were fraudulent with these PPP loans. Although these companies may pay, the more frustrating part is all the small business owners that lost their companies, because there wasn't enough to go around. Now, I want to know who all of these companies were, it will give a good gauge of ethics practices and personally it doesn't matter to me if we change the chief executive officers. Changing the officer doesn't necessarily warrant changes in ethics. I like to pay attention to these details, because often the ethics remain the same and therefore it's good information to be aware of.
