Today we are looking at the Walrus Audio Slö. A multi-texture reverb pedal. This pedal is extremely versatile. You can create all sorts of washed out and texture rich tones with this peaceful beast. From lower octaves to swells to dreamy modulation. This thing can do it all. It's highly recommended by others and myself! If you need a little more reverb on your board, this is a great addition. I've gotten comfortable with this pedal as it was my first reverb pedal. So finally I talk you through all it can do.

Ey, question, (I have the pedal too and am looking at the instruction manual). When accessing the secondary wave shape functions, you held the bypass button down as you switched the wave shape mode, though you were still holding the bypass button engaged as you were turning the setting back to the original primary function mode (for instance when changing it to 'sink' you still had the bypass button engaged when you switched it back to the rise setting). Are you sure this changed the secondary function to sink rather than keeping it at warp? How would you know? I read the whole manual but I don't think it's quite specific enough to be certain about using some of the secondary functions. Thanks for the video!

Great video & explanation of the pedal. I have a Slö & I absolutely love it...!!! Imo - a rushed rise could be used to segue into a different passage of your music. Anything more than 2 measures would not be pleasing to the ears. Thnx again for putting this all together & taking the time for such detail. Subbing 🎃🎶🎸👍

Do you play direct or with a amp, and If amp, what amp? Your dry signal sounds so good! Also Nice seeing you on Andy’s stream today!

Is there a way of altering the wet/dry setting while or before entering the latch mode in dream, so that your guitar signal is fully wet while the pad is sounding? Thanks
@kevwyxin
@kevwyxin 4 жыл бұрын
From what I've noticed when playing it...once you latch, it creates the pad and if you change the mix knob position it will affect the pad and wet/dry sound of the reverb. So turning the knob clockwise makes the pad and your wet reverb louder. If that makes sense. Turning clockwise will make the pad go away eventually once you are fully counter-clockwise.

I just got mine, but it seems like the rise setting only works if I strum hard, is that normal?

I just got mine and I love it - but does the modulations (sine/warp/sink) reset when the power is cut off?? or do I need to to an extra reset?
@kevwyxin
@kevwyxin 3 жыл бұрын
As far as I know they do not reset when you cut power. They stay wherever you set them last.

Yes. Only the Mix knob's 50% is different from a standard knob's.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN "PAD"?
@kevwyxin
@kevwyxin 2 жыл бұрын
"pad" is a typical term for a synth sound that sits underneath everything in a mix. Think like how a drone can be used to create a bottom layer of sound beneath everything else.

This or walrus fathom?. Big dilemma
@kevwyxin
@kevwyxin 4 жыл бұрын
I haven’t played with the fathom, but when I compared the two before buying I liked the SLO better. 🤷‍♂️ That may be obvious though. 😅
@vorakeyur
@vorakeyur 4 жыл бұрын
@@kevwyxin I liked both. Can afford only one. My amp has reverb..I'm a bit tilting towards SLO. Dammn they did bad to make two pedals, could have just combined and made one...
@kevwyxin
@kevwyxin 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I had that same thought about combining them. But they can sell more products by having two. 😉 I like the slo better because of the rise mode. I don’t have a volume pedal because I use the rise mode to do swells. I use that mode so much that I’m glad I got the slo over the fathom. If your amp has reverb I would go with slo because you’ll get more texture and movement with it and any normal reverb can come from your amp. 👍
