Yes, that was a very outdated reference, sue me. Also, if you've seen my book in a local bookshop, tell me where!
Book buying can be accomplished on Amazon, via books2read.com..., or definitely DRM-free at www.baen.com/j...

Pennsylvanian here. I bought the book and flowers for my wife for Valentine's Day. She discussed it with some of her friends. One of them is a librarian. Word of mouth advertising. I pitched it to my wife as "think Princess Bride.". I just read it myself and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say it is more romance compared to the storybook that is Princess Bride. Spoilers- It took me a bit to work out the parallel characters and the group dynamics. I was pleasantly surprised with that group because it very much paralleled a group I made for a DnD campaign.

One of your Pennsylvania fans here! There's a pretty active SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) community in this region, and even the annual Pennsic Wars. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a fair number of those folks who found the channel through the stage combat/fight choreo/armor review videos. It's a short hop from there to the book. Central Pennsylvania has a large community of religious (and religious-adjacent) readers who enjoy flirtatious romantic fiction that doesn't get too spicy. As that's not a high-priority genre for most publishers, the readers heavily rely on each other for recommendations. If one enjoys it, a hundred will give it a try. Your sense of humor probably plays well in that market. Also, they love a good sword fight.

The Woodlands, Texas, US, little indy shop called Buy the book. Just north of Houston. Glad to see the book spreading. Ever thought of asking fans to take photos with the books in local shops? From my bookseller youth days, if a book gets enough orders and visibility, it starts showing up on lists of trending books that chain stores get, and book buyers for those stores take notice. Also, if you ever were to, say, sign copies at a store, that can increase the chances the book will be replenished when it sells. Just a thought. It's awesome to see the story getting a larger audience :)

The branch where I work had a print copy on the staff picks shelf (😁) for about *3 hours*. I checked this morning & there’s a wait of 6 weeks for 32 print copies (each branch in our system ordered one) & 4 weeks for the ebook version. (I’ll be honest - I, too, referenced “The Princess Bride” when I asked to buy the book for our branch. It also reminds me a little of Jasper Fforde’s Thursday Next series.) ❤

Pennsylvanian here, from Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania has one of the stronger and better funded groups of public libraries, with a lot of cooperation between libraries in the same county. It’s likely there has been a lot of institutional purchases. Doing a quick check of the Carnegie Library / Allegheny County system, there are five copies of your book circulating around, held in different libraries. One of them is actually at the library I usually go to, plus one in the main Carnegie Library and a few of the other libraries in the area. There’s a robust system of holds and inter-library lending, meaning anyone wanting to get your book just has to put in a request and it can be at their library of choice in a day or two assuming there are no other holds ahead of them. I think the Philly system will be similar, etc. It’s probably not just bookshops but all of those library systems, since they might buy 1-10 copies to cover the county.

i actually saw a copy in southern germany back in february :) also one of the big chain bookstores has an online feature where you can see if a bookshop has a certain book lying around and apparently at least 24 different bookshops of this one chain have one on their shelves right now.

From Pennsylvania here! I have a copy of your book and love it! I don’t know anyone else who has a copy, but I know lots of people who would love one 😄 idk maybe we’re just a medieval oriented state here

Yeah. It's been said before. A lot of people in the state of Pennsylvania are big on reenactment from different eras in history. Especially in the medieval era. I'm not surprised they love your book. 😁❤

As a Pennsylvania resident, reader, & aspiring writer I have two theories for at least half the western half of the state. First, Pittsburgh, PA apparently has a decent HEMA/fencing school. I only know this cause I went to college with some homeschooled students who ranked nationally in youth fencing competitions. A title like “Just Stab Me Now” would become known QUICKLY. Second theory, the weather in the Laurel Highlands is not unlike the Scottish highlands, from what I’ve heard. When it’s cold and rainy, you’ll gravitate toward reading and other indoor hobbies! Or me annoying the employees at Barnes & Noble had weird ripple effects. 😂🙃

I bought my copy of “Just stab me now” when the “Science fiction bookstore” in Gothenburg(sweden) got it in at their store and they had multiple copies that sold out multiple times (which I know since i tried going there multiple times when their website said they should have it in just to arrive and get told they just sold the last copy😅) and then I saw copies at their Stockholm location just a couple of days ago so it has definitely been popular over here🙌🏻 And every time I’ve seen the book it’s been in the staff recommended section of the store❤

Pennsylvania has a population of 13 million, it's the fifth biggest state in the US, so it isn't that surprising that it is high up the list. I'd be more freaked out if Rhode Island topped it!

I assume that you mean PA have ordered the most physical copies? Back in the day, our websites would have a disproportionate number of visitors from PA, turned out all the AOL discs that got given out with cheap internet connections routed everything (including UK traffic) through servers in PA...
