Your landlord went from 1 to 100 in like 60 seconds! Yikes, yikesyikes. Seconding what others have said - get everything in writing, go through the agency when you need to discuss issues with the property. Take photos of everything that's an issue sooner rather than later so the landlord can't be all "oh that was probably you, like this house was IMMACULATE before you moved in". Also probably worth talking to your local Citizens' Advice Bureau so you can quote your rights as a tenant chapter and verse.

I'm so sorry about your landlord. Stick to the contract and don't deal with him directly when it's necessary. I LOVED Ace of Spades. You had the same reaction as I did with the ... I listened to the audiobook, and my stomach was in knots throughout the second half of the book. I can't wait to see what the author does next.

I think I heard the council can get you your bins. Yeah your landlord sounds like they either had a bad day and took it out on you, or they needs someone to talk to about their issues 🙄 Make sure you save those texts and everything just in case. I really really want to read Ace of Spades 🥺 but I have to finish my tbr first 😭

I can completely relate to your story about your landlord, it's such an incredibly uncomfortable feeling when someone is being unreasonable and also literally has so much power over you because they literally own the roof over your head. I hope it all works itself out! Luckily you have a load of lovely books to distract you :)

The person that lives across from my home always looks into my room... She just sits in from of her window so she can see everything that happens in our street and she always end up looking right into my bedroom window which is a floor higher as where she is. She has been doing that ever since I know so probably for 15 to 20+ years... She always sees me reading 😂. And now I just made it a game to stare back at her whenever she looks up at me

I would suggest you talk to the agency from now on if the landlord is going to behave like that. Is your local council not responsible for supplying the bins? Wheelie bins and recycling bins are supplied by my local council regardless of whether a property is owner occupied or rented out.

I enjoyed The Sades of Magic series quite a bit when I read it years ago. It's a quick, relatively easy-to-digest read so I went through it quickly. And I was so happy I didn't have to wait when that cliffhanger happened.

Landlord's can be difficult. I have had my negative experiences... legally he hasn't got a leg to stand on. This is very much a him problem and not you. Especially with the defensive stance of 'I am the best landlord'. I would save the messages, only go via agents, any issues, this guy is a prick. Legally landlord can't kick you out without notice. With regards to bins: councils provide for free. Google council name and replace bins. When mine got nicked they dropped off a new bin outside my property on next bin day

Also as a doctor, we are not 'better' humans and a doctor friend of mine is a terrible tenant. This guy is being manipulative. Stay strong in yourself, stay in the adult mindspace, don't take responsibility for his issues, and stick to a very formal approach. E.g. I do not have bins for the property. How can I obtain some. ... That did not answer my question. I shall speak to the agent to find a solution. ... You don't need to address his tripe about wanting someone else but if you did, something like: I am your current tenant. I do not need to hear about the selection process. Any issues, please direct them through the agent. And don't get into a back and forth about anything. Being boundaried is a difficult skill to learn and I have had to learn as my parents play these sort of games and emotionally blackmail me. In the end, they couldn't respect my boundaries so cut me off. This game playing is about the other person. You and I, we don't need to play the game.

Sorry your having trouble with your landlord,, they suuuck. When we moved in we had no floor, a broken boiler and open sewage pipe work ✌ he replaced the floor with a carpet we absolutely hate, the new boiler was installed in correctly and the sewage work wasn't sorted for 3/4 months in. Also took him 6 months to get a cap on the chimney, when turned it him just putting a paving slab over the top 🤣🤣 But best of luck to you! Make sure you go through your agency. Landlords aren't allowed to discriminate through agencies like that, so make sure you let them know what's going on - they should be on your side

I felt the same with a Conjuring of Light, I read the first two close together, but left it almost 3 years to read book 3 and it was good but not great for me. Might need to reread the series at some point now I’ve read a lot more fantasy. I need to pick up ace of shades at some point as that sounds fab.

Or do you have to go to the city to get the bins? Who is actually responsible if you're renting? I really think it's the landlord. If you have Netflix, please do youself a favor and watch Young royals TV show. Young royals only has six episodes but this TV show is amazing. I have read both books which you did read in the vlog. Ace of spades is one of my favorite books which I have read this year and A darker shade of magic is one of my favorite series 😊

Your Landlord sounds like he is wayyyy tooo much inti himself, sounding so stuck up and he def. could have been way more nicer than that. Landlords are supposed to make the tennats happy not scared! Anyway the lady was probably staring just because she wasn't sure what the ring light was. i have a lot of family and friends who have no idea what a ring light is let alone what it looks like. I just put ace of spades on hold at my library after you compared it to pll and honestly with you on the show, after the graduated it just got really bad!

Your landlord is surely meant to provide you with bins. This is why I hate private housing. This is why we need more social housing and less private housing. You got a bad landlord or a manchild who can't handle criticism. Also, I don't believe for a second that he had a Doctor wanting to rent the home. It's his property it's his call who he rents his property to. I'd buy them yourself and when it comes time for you to move on then take them with you. Petty but your landlord sounds like a numpty and that's putting it politely. Just act through your agent from now on. Clearly, he's a horrid person.

I do apologise. My vlogs are more casual and I move about a lot and there is more shaking of a camera during those movements. In my regular videos, I use a ring light stand so there isn't movement. Can you point out which part of the vlog did this so I can try and avoid it in the future? Sometimes I have to use a stack of books as a makeshift stand and I apologise for any shakiness.
