But I'm a sucker for vampire stuff and I was pleasantly surprised by how different this book read. Not a masterpiece in any way but a fun time and I kinda hope Ali writes more fantasy! @laurenmiller1497 ай бұрын
the kids that grew up reading and writing fanfic are livinggg right now 😂 knotting is barely the tip of the iceberg y'all (pun intended). the omegaverse is popular on AO3/wattpad/etc. because it addresses so much more than sex-complex pack and societal hierarchies, the dichotomy of masculine (alpha) and feminine (omega), the struggles of having an inner wolf (kinda like having a strong gut instinct as a human), their relationship to nature/the earth/them moon, their relationship to magic, and so much more. unlike what the general public would like to believe, it's not ALL porn. so yeah, personally I'm glad fic elements like this are trickling into the mainstream. especially since I've read several traditionally published werewolf books over the past year and their wolf lore was awful... like, "I'm an alpha so I'm toxic masculinity personified and out of control, but it doesn't matter cause I'm hot" kinda awful. they definitely could've benefitted from some omegaverse research...

An ARC is an Advanced Reader Copy. It is a copy that is sent out by the publisher before the book is fully complete, and published for sale to get reviews. I was super excited to read her books because of the STEM representation, but pretty quickly into the Love Hypothesis it was abundantly clear to me as a bio student that she has no idea what scientific research is like. Doesn't mean people can't enjoy her writing, I bet you wouldn't even notice unless you were actually in the field!
