As someone who lost my 39 year old mother to cancer when I was 18, I feel for you. I always lived with her, but I began to distance myself when I was about 16. I started staying out late and trying to be home as minimal as possible. To this day I sometimes feel regret for not spending as much time as possible with her. Even when I knew of her cancer, I thought she would get better. I thought I had all the time in the world to make it up to her. I’m sure you genuinely plan on meeting your mother and forming a relationship, but I ask that you stick with it. Don’t postpone it anymore. I send my best regards and well wishes to you and your family. God bless.

I was adopted when i was 7 months old... I was separated from her 3 days after i was born because i was tested positive for cocaine and marijuana. A week after I was born she was arrested for selling drugs to minors. When the court case came for the custody of me or the family I have now, the case lasted 2 years due to how she was behind bars. Her lawyer apparently pulled some strings when she got out on bail. All my biological mother had to do was show up to court.... She never came. It hurts. It really does. I just turned 16 last week. My family I have now took me in and I see them as my TRUE family. My biological family gave me life, my family taught me what to do with it. To this day I haven't met her or heard anything from her. All I know is that I have an older and a younger brother. I one day wish to meet them all and perhaps create a relationship with them... One day. Stay strong brother. I'm happy for your clarity and I hope you do eventually meet her and be reunited with her and your biological family. May God be with all of you and stand by all of you. I wish you nothing but happiness in your endeavors. And congratulations on your success. 🙏💯

Oh, God. You just made me relive the past 6 months of my life (without the adoption). My mom only told me she had breast cancer when it was stage 4 in January of this year. She passed away in April. I thought I had more time............I'm telling you this so that you reach out and try to spend as much time with her as possible. I'm so glad you found each other. Your mom sounds like a lady who did the best she could for her child. Just remember, loving her is not being disloyal to your adoptive parents. Please, when you go and see her, treasure the memories. This really touched my heart bc I was adopted at a young age as well. So I felt ur pain and even ur joy of the letter from ur birth mother. I met mine at age 20 I was so happy but still so sad. I covered my pain for so long and I tried also filling the void and emptiness with so many things. I cried like a baby watching this.
