Autism + mainstream school = some mixed reviews from my school reports 🤔 If you are newly diagnosed (or not so newly) I highly recommend having a look through your old reports, it can uncover (or not so much..) some really quite interesting things that seem so 'obvious' now.

I would LOVE a dollar for every time I have been in the middle of something since my diagnosis 3 years and uttered “HOW THE F WAS THAT MISSED!!!!!” The biggest eye opener for me has been seeing you can have Autism and still be quite good at things like public speaking. Broadcasting, public speaking and so many other things always thought simply weren’t possible for anyone with autism to do at all much less excel at. I never understood my need to isolate after a speaking engagement, evening of standup or radio/stream broadcast. Pretty sure I’ve typed this in every video of yours I’ve watched, but here it comes again… Thank you for sharing all of this! ❤

Regarding the "How was this missed" Hindsight makes it easier to confirm since you have a bigger picture than what they had at the time when you where younger. I tried to look back at the same types of episodes back when I was younger, and I totaly understand why it was missed.

Thanks for sharing. I would say, the breadth and depth of incompetence and ignorance in the medical community, particularly the MH community ... shocking. More than a decade ago, I tried to get diagnosed and was told i wasn't after a 15 minute (i sh1t you not) interview. I was offered no other diagnosis and simply told "you should socialise more". Turns out I am autistic with severe cPTSD ... and this "expert" couldn't see it or couldn't be bothered to even try and understand why I was seeking a diagnosis .... (hmmm ... overshare? lol)

hey, i just recently came across a video about autism in females and was shocked how much i could relate to so many things. one thing being a bit lost in social situations, “faking" to blend in and often in a conversation trying to guess what reaction is being expected of me, rather than just being me. for example when i had a small solo exhibition where i knew i had to be there and people come in because of my works, i really stopped functioning 😂 i mean i stayed there and survived, but i was so weirded out the whole time - it felt like i forgot how to human. i tried to script some answers to „common“ questions beforehand, but i ran out pretty quickly. i always thought “well that is just how i am” but actually, maybe it's not only that :P or maybe it is and that's fine too.. thanks for sharing your stories, and i love your bird 🤍 ( sorry for this way too long comment 😅 )

Yesss at running out of scripted answers! I never know what to do after that 😂 also having to guess which reactions to give too, I sometimes get it wrong and give a smile and nod when someone is telling a sad story for example. Thank you, her name is Echo 😊 my other little guy isn't so social haha. Thanks for sharing ❤

My school reports bear no relationship to my experience.

Mine don’t either and I believe the reason on my end is that my memories do not reflect the mask. They are simply recollection of how I actually felt/experienced events and have almost nothing in common with those who only know the characters I would assume while masking. Does that make any sense to anyone? lol.

They do say that you shouldn't work with animals and children 😂 clearly your birds have something to say about your poor teachers writing. I hate to look at my reports 😂 all i remember is i liked art 🎨
