@@qu1253 Why would they wait for 100% playability? Why not just do it now? As @Hinokassaudifan1 said once it's on the internet, they can't take it down meaning if they wait for the game to be 100% playable they would still basically give people on PC the definitive way to experience that game which also happens to be a way were Sony does not get money from it. Anyways if ShadPS4 is doing everything legit, and isn't pulling a Yuzu, which they are not, then even if they get a C&D they could just wave it away because as it's been proven for the past 30 or so years, nothing about emulation is inherently illegal, and Sony knows this.

I almost quit playing dark souls several times because of the difficulty and had to learn several things through external means to begin enjoying the game. Mainly two things, first I wanted to play a pyromancer and wondered what stat pyromancy scales off because the game doesn't tell you, I though to myself "well pyromancy is magic so it must scale off Intelligence." WRONG, in fact pyromancy doesn't scale off anything, only the level of your pyromancy flame matters in DS1. And that brings me to the second point, and that's learning how to build, because I thought that you should level up your stats to deal more damage, but no, that's a mistake, in the early game, upgrading your weapons is way better and you should focus on leveling up Vigor and Endurance when leveling up your character. Truth is, dark souls character progression is pretty counter intuitive when coming from typical action RPG games, so if you're not used to fromsoftware logic and apply regular RPG logic to a souls like game you're going to get boddied and frustrated.

This is my favorite game of all time. But all souls games do have a “difficulty setting” for example if you farm the 3 guys outside of Andre’s smithing area you can get free Titanite shards and get your weapon to +5 before fighting the gargoyles… essentially making it “easy mode” with the cleric you can dump levels and soul items into faith only and get lightning spear right as you reach the sunlight altar making every enemy a 1 shot for quite some time… again “easy mode” if you play this game enough you figure out these things over time. The problem with people is they are used to mashing buttons and being led by the hand through every game ever. So the beauty of DSR will forever be lost on them.

They played Dark Souls to prove that they were a "real gamer," gave up, and because they had staked their pride in beating the game, they got unreasonably upset about not beating it. "dark souls 1 is too dated to enjoy without nostalgia" Me playing through for the first time THIS YEAR, and absolutely loving it: 🗿 Edit: Dark Souls does not need a "difficulty setting". It basically already has one with how easy it is to cheese some enemies for souls, and sorcery exists. Just spec into the damage type you deal, and you'll suddenly be on easy mode. Can't dodge and don't like getting one tapped? Get good armor and level vitality. The only way any disability could get in the way of you playing this game is you have ALS, are paralyzed from the neck down, or something like that. If you don't know what you're doing and are sick of dying there's no shame in looking up how to beat that area of you think that's more fun than dying until you find your own way to do it. Just enjoy the game, and stop letting your pride prevent you from getting the info you need if you're rage quitting. Instead of calling it a bad game figure out what you're doing wrong. Nobody complains when they die in MGS because they know they fucked up. Why do DS haters always have to blame the game for their lack of knowledge on it when they don't play and find out how to counter the issues they're facing.

I was one of the people that left a negative review on dark souls 1, I don't hate this game but I really don't like it either. DSI is extremely good in some aspects, the way the game is laid out is genuinely brilliant, to the point where refusing to let you fast travel doesn't just feel like a design choice but it's actually woven into the level design itself, like even though I hate Blighttown, the claustrophobia Blighttown induces actually makes the overall experience more immersive because it makes unlocking fast travel a little while later feel that much more rewarding, but in my opinion there are far more cons than there are pros. It sounds like a copout but it would genuinely be quicker to list the things I don't hate about this game then it would be for me to list the things I do, legitimately ever other minute aspect of this game frustrates me, almost everything about the character's mechanics feels clunky, allot of bosses have way too much defense paired with pretty boring movesets, allot of areas are absolutely fucking gigantic for no reason which makes them a slog to run through (some of them actually have reasonable explanations but still), and the entire second half of the game is self explanatory. Overall I think the game hasn't aged very well, but there are also some fundamental design choices that I really don't like

I've always held the opinion that the souls games are not difficult, they're just different from a lot of other games, and the game refuses to hold your hand. So whenever I see someone complain about Soulsborne difficulty, it always reads to me like "I refuse to learn how this game works and I'm mad it won't let me win". Anyway, I have mixed feelings on DS1. There are some parts about it I really like (Painted World, Anor Londo, Grass Root Basin, Dukes Archives, and the DLC), and there are some parts I absolutely loath (Catacombs, Izalith Gauntlet, New Londo Ruins, etc.). It's a mixed bag, all and all.

Although, this was AFTER playing like 100+ hours of Bloodborne, so went in with that mindset, got dropped like a bad habit and returned to it years later and beat it. Even in Bloodborne, you can take your time and analyze the bosses. These games all require a great deal of patience. Also, doesn't anyone else realize that people who try to prove other wrong, they have to play in a hyper specific way or tell someone they're playing the game wrong....I thought for the longest time that there's not a wrong or right way to play these games, because they promote player freedom in how they want to take on the world. I play classic RPGs and FPS games more than anything else where I do not have time to really want to play Dark Souls. Honestly I would not have played it if not for Elden Ring where I understand the mindset needed to play Dark Souls games. I have no idea how to get any of the content you all seem to find nor do I know what I am doing so in that regard I am not a fan. Combat is fun but other than that I am not a fan of cryptic stuff. Now if someone wishes to help me with how to get a mindset on finding stuff I would be happy to try it again.

Dude, do you know how expensive Steam Prepare to Die edition keys are? I would rather buy the PS5 PROfit.

I really gotta play DS1 and.. 2.. Too bad the original DS1 has been unlisted.

11:33 Every friend that is a fan of this game has demanded that I play Dark Souls 1 or else. Same thing with blueberries. So no, people do try and force you to play this crappy game. Only Sins of the First Scholar and Bloodporne should be played. They are worth your time and money. Better art style, more polished gameplay mechanics, less bugs, better lighting, and fun PVP mechanics.

you didn't play the original release where blight town would drop your max fps down to 15fps... it made it far worse

I know it’s not the point of the video (funny as hell, by the way), but I find that if I’m on the fence about a game the negative reviews are generally more useful to me. Not the kind of shit reviews you highlighted, but the well-thought out ones with cogent criticisms. A lot of the positive reviews seem to be as gushy as the negatives are plain salty

Honestly the fucking original version of dark souls 1 does not work. I know because I wanted to give it a try and after hours i could not get it to work with dsfix. I am happy they took it down it's for the best

i played ds1 4 years ago and i actually can't go back to ds1 or any of the other souls games, i miss all the elden ring mechanics too much. unironically elden ring has ruined me

Lol this is the kind of video that made me find your channel. I like hearing the salty reviews or comments from good games lol. Think it was an elden ring video but could have been another souls game. Anyway lol, these are fun

13:12 I think the guy wanted to mention he's japanese. And I think he has a point that the battle mechanics feels slow and clunky compared to later games. Also I didn't get what you meant by raising your stats to make the battle mechanics less laggy

You see as a person that played PTDE version on pc, i can say that it was ass. Game have numerous problems. Most know issue was that you were unable to play full screen and need to play in box that was not compatible. Forcing game to full screen couses crash. Fun fact is, when you have to good monitor it will always crash at clicking new game, best solution was to plug 2nd monitor and set it on 60hz with some lower resolution than full hd, then start new game on this monitor and only after save file is created you can play the game on main monitor ofc on 60hz what do you think. And even if you played this buged out version it was not even comparable to remaster. Praise the sun that remaster exist.

Never understood all the things people complain about in DS1. Anor Londo archers never hit me when I sprint, blighttown takes like 10 mins to loot everything and descend fully.. these complaints are memes.

I tried to love ds1, ds3, sekiro and elden ring and then gave up, even though I have 235 hours in hollow knight which has a very similar gameplay loop. But for some reason, no matter how hard I try I just don't like it.

Since this is steam they could just download cheat engine and give themselves millions if souls and max level. You can still die but it would be much easier. Then play without any cheats. They may enjoy it even.
