I love spoilers for vlogs like this! Especially when the book is that long 😅 The only time I’d rather not see spoilers is when you do book prize reading, bc those are my fave way to add books to my tbr

Hi!! I totally agree with you about the writing being a bit rough and the plot getting repetitive, but I absolutely loved this book-it was the first fanfic I ever read! Hermione feels really different here, but I think it’s a believable direction for her character if she’d made different choices as a teen. She was brilliant in the books and everyone believed and encouraged her, but when nobody has her back she doesn’t have a lot of things to do. Just trying to survive alone. The changes in every character reflect the horror and brutality of the war so well. The ending left me with such a bittersweet feeling. They got their “happy ending,” but it’s not truly happy-no one even knows they’re the ones who ended the war. That adds such a sad layer to it.

It's true, I think I just missed a bit of her fire! I think I know now that these types of romances aren't for me, with the female character being too passive overall, and maybe I wanted even more drama too, haha

I cringe when i remember that i used to ship them bc of the out of character fanfics i used to read hahahha. like sure his parents suck and he was raised that way but he also made some pretty disgusting decisions on his own :) and thank you for your HP disclaimer at the start! so many creators will just randomly talk about the series sometimes and i can't tell where they stand!

Hi, please do not review fanfiction. I know that this fic has gained much attention and is being traditionally published, so that can make it difficult to know this, but fanfic needs to remain in fanfiction spaces for its protection. Fanfics are also not books, they are labors of love and made free for people in the fandom, and negative reviews are against good fanfiction conduct. Just something to keep in mind for the future. This is said with love and to educate, so I hope that you won't take offense.
