I've found that while I loved Uprooted as a whole, Spinning Silver really had to grow on me but has been the one I've wanted to reread and have thought about the most since finishing it.

For the managing work vs. self care challenge, I have the exact opposite problem. I am so incredibly distractable and I struggle a lot with focusing on what needs to be done for a long amount of time. I've found that setting a timer for how long I need to do one task really helps. You could use that to time out your chunks of work so that when it goes off you know you need to take a break.

hey riley! i have the same problem w/ remembering to be a functional human being when working on a project too. it must be a slytherin thing! i actually have alarms set on my phone that go off at 9am (for a shower), 12pm (for lunch) and 5pm (for tea) so i remember to eat and all that basic stuff. maybe try something like that? the noise of the alarn usually jars me out of my focus and it works well for me

i definietly need to set more alarms. I used to do that but I would get used to the alarm sound and just ignore it after like a week 😂

Riley Marie lol that’s definitely an issue but it’s worked pretty well for me so far. maybe have set tones for certain activities to trigger your memory?? idk but i hope you find something that works for you

GIRL! What are those chair shaped pillows called and WHERE do I get one?!!?! I've had All the Birds in the Sky forever and I'm desperate to read it, I hope I love it because the book you received sounds awesome. I can relate to your work ethic. If I have a lot of candles to make I literally get out of bed and start as soon as my feet hit the floor and then I don't eat until 6pm because I just forget also when I start a project I become thoroughly consumed by it until I burn out. I just have no chill haha

I need to get my shit together 😓But they only have them in those adult hardcovers (which I kind of hate those covers) or the mass market paper backs ugh. The Brilliant Death sounds SO interesting, I feel like it really turned a lot of normal tropes on its head and I've been dying to read more ~different~ fantasy. Committing to way to much is my LIFE. Like I swear, on the weeks where I have nothing going on I don't end up doing ANYTHING. But on my busy weeks, I'm like "oh yeah, let's add more to this schedule, make things interesting". I'm glad you didn't totally hate Uprooted. xD Even if you did, it would have been fun to hear your opinions either way. Your review was oddly similar to mine which was funny. At the beginning of the book, I totally liked Kasia better, but once I accepted Agnieszka's unlikable personality, I got into it more later on. The romance and immersion/magic system and world-building were the things I loved most about the book. Also, congratulations on 30K!! You 100% deserve it what with how much work you put into this channel.
