The Inheritance Games is such a good trilogy. Short, fast, engaging and enjoyable YA series. Author Jennifer Lynn Barnes is a master at keeping you on the edge of your seat and invested. The characters are fun and easy to root for. Short chapters too. Her other series, The Naturals, is also a spectacular pick. Both books have gotten me out of reading slumps multiple times. Her writing style is just addictive. Highly recommend!!

Completely agree with you about Fate Inked In Blood!! Pretty much exactly every single thing you said. I ended up giving it 2 out of 5 stars. I ADORED a Bride Kingdom - so not liking this new book was a huge let down.

i read AFIIB last month. i feel the same honestly. it was a fast pace read for me but it was predictable and i was starting to get frustrated with the characters. i go back and forth on the romance too. i like their banter and their friendship but it almost felt as though there wasn’t any progression and it was just him going from resenting her and wanting nothing to do with protecting her and then being absolutely obsessed with her and willing to do anything to be with her. still a good read tho definitely interesting!

I was interested in A Fate Inked in Blood when it first came out, but I've heard so many people saying it's just "okay" that I'm going to try getting it on Libby first; English books in Japan are way to expensive to buy if you're not sure about them.
