"...the Code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules...." TBR's are made to be broken especially by mood readers like us. I prefer the idea of a stack of new releases and then choosing from there. Previous reads always have a determining factor on what to read next and how will you know until you read them? 💮

I recently just got into thrillers (as in I've read Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney) but I really enjoyed it and like that type of thriller. Not very horror or gruesome which I was afraid thrillers were gonna be. That being said did you enjoy Rock Paper Scissors? it was still a technically positive ending, like there potential for the future of the characters, but we don’t actually see that ending ending if that makes sense. it just felt like it ended way soon!

Totally agree on In The Lives of Puppets. I wanted to love the characters but most of the book felt a little forced. The jokes grated on me after a while and I didn’t feel very connected like I did in the House on Cerulean Sea book. Last 1/3 of the book was not great. Praying this doesn’t bode poorly for Under the Whispering Door !
