90% of the negative reactions are from people who either hate Reagan or were taught to hate Reagan and negative reviews of the film won't be based on the film but on their personal biases against Reagan. Ditto most of the positive reviews and their fondness for Reagan. I'm a history buff and I'm very interested in this film and I've always liked Dennis Quaid as well as Penelope Ann Miller and Jon Voight.

He loved this country and believed that America's best days could still be ahead. Then factor in that he felt accountable for his actions and the worked to make this country better for all citizens. Yes, maybe not a saint. But, certainly notably better than most people in government who use their time in 'public service' to line their own pockets.
