If you use the free FlyAndWire A32NX community mod, it should act the same way as real life. They've done (and are still doing!) so much to improve the base aircraft. Definitely going to become the "Zibo mod" of FS2020 in terms of universal recommendation.

Loving the videos! They have been of great help. FYI, the latest FBW dev version appears to have fixed the taxi/thrust issue. Surprised me the first time as I started to creep forward after engine start, gotta keep the parking brake on! And it does indeed slowly accelerate at idle thrust. Also, their new installer makes it super simple to keep the mod up to date with either the dev version or release version.

Again, ANOTHER brilliantly given tutorial to all us willing and eager sim pilots. As i mentioned before your voice is really calming and i bet you even make an in flight single engine failure sound as calming as the drinks trolley coming round. Mind you a double Engine failure on your A320 and that might test your calming voice LOL. Unfortunately i have fallen out of love with MSFS until they improve the Airliners. The 787-10 is a joke, and even the FBW A320 is testing my patience with it's ILS landing issues. (Landed at KSFO and although my ILS diamonds where lined up on the display when i came out the VERY low cloud I was way off. So gone back to the 737-800 in Xplane and the good ole Zibo version. MSFS & FBW Will make it better, but for now XP has me back.

What I am curious about is the procedures to follow on a small airport where there is only one taxiway that connects to the runway in the middle and you need to use the runway to get to your take-off position. I imagine you would hold short before the runway, switch to Tower, get clearance to resume the rest of your taxi on the runway and get take-off clearance once you get to the start of the runway. Which of course doesn't quite work that way in MSFS with default ATC. So I sometimes get clearance before stepping onto the runway, and sometimes just get to the start of the runway and then get clearance.
@maverickonyoursix Жыл бұрын
That's how it is on Heathrow because of the M25 motorway before the runway (Cannot land at the beginning of the runway, but you can take off).

Huh, I could swear I read somewhere that the ladder hold short lines were ILS hold short points to prevent interference with landing aircraft. Thanks for clearing that up though!
@abbahille31114 жыл бұрын
That's correct, low visibility procedures are put into place so landing aircraft can perform CAT2/3 autoland, for that they need a precise uninterrupted ILS signal, therefore the offset hold short line where waiting aircraft won't interfere with the LOC signal. There was an incident with a SIA B777 in Munich a couple of years ago due to this: avherald.com/h?article=445873f3&opt=1
@noiserrr4 жыл бұрын
@@abbahille3111 i might have missed something but that report states that the departing aircraft which casued the disrupted LOC signal was stopped at the CAT II/III holding point before hand though and the reason for the disruption had to do landing aircraft doing an autoland but departing flight before was not within CAT II/III separation minima of takeoff/departure and therefor interfered with the signal.
@abbahille31114 жыл бұрын
@@noiserrr Yes, I should have clarified. In this specific case it was caused by a departing aircraft but it merely serves as an example for the fact that these signal interferences are seriously dangerous and thus the importance for a safety margin for autolandings even at hold short points.

In the last stream you asked if there is a game that you could play, and there is one that could be for you. And pls stay with me this is going to be a long one. The Game is called DCS World it is a flight sim like msfs 2020 or xp11, but you don't fly commercial planes instad you fly fighter jets. And now a few points why the game is so nice: 1. The Base game is 100% free, it includes the game it self (with a mission editor, training missions Multiplayer etc.) the Caucasus map (it is located in the west of the black sea) a warbird (fully clickable but not armed) the russian A2G striker Su-25t (for starters non cklickable, but wepponised) 2. Alltough it could look a bit crazy that some modules(so are the DLCs called) can cost up to 80-90$ you can just wait until there is a sale in witch you normaly get a 50% discount(unless the module was released 1 month ago). 3. DCS has a high learning curve, because there are a lot of good KZbin Videos out there. 4. The game looks just Beautiful, the details inside the airplane is just amazing. 5. At some point you will ask your self: Why isn't the whole world moddeled? Thats because nearly every object is destroyable! And many more... if this sounds nice I will post a link under this comment to a video that explains the same what i just wrote here. 👌 After reading this comment through I realy have to say... It sounds like I'm a sales person who want's to sale you something 😅. (And sorry for my bad english 😅)

Maybe you can help me out with this.. I'm having trouble keeping my taxi speeds consistent (in pretty much every plane). It seems like sometimes you only have to bump the throttle "one click" and it will start rolling immediately, sometimes you have to really hit the throttle just to get moving at all.. and once I am moving, my ground speed slowly keeps climbing even after I've zero'd the throttle. and don't even get me started on the TBM930... That one starts moving as soon as you release the parking brake, even when the throttle is in the idle position. I follow cold&dark procedures from credible KZbinrs (lol) and follow them to the letter. But no matter what I do, I constantly have to ride the brakes to keep the taxi speeds realistic. What am I missing?

Hey! first i want to say thx for good learning movies! I note that you mention, you often tax on idle thrust and the A320 increases speed in real life. I have experienced this after the new update from FBW. Another thing I have learned, is that the A320 makes the final approach, with very low throttle (N1). Is this real, or is it unrealistic dynamics in the game? appreciate your replay! Greetings From Norway!

Hey man, love your videos. I've always wondered, do you pilots also get anxious as a result of turbulence? Also, does the new Microsoft Flight Sim have an "easy" mode where you don't have to do all these extensive technical things in order to enjoy flight and landscapes? I was considering buying it but quite honestly, although it's fascinating to watch you, I don't have the patience for all the intricacies. Keep on making these videos, thank you!!!

Yeah, you can take a smaller airplane and start on the runway fully set up or even in the air. It's easy. But honestly I never thought I would fly a A320 with use of auto pilot and flying automated approaches. I thought it's too much effort. But a few youtube videos later, that's all I do in this sim. It's rewarding and you keep always learning.
