This is the Atari 800 M.U.L.E. title theme recorded from a real Atari 800, NTSC machine. It sounds a wee bit less off-key in certain places than it's PAL counterpart (listen to it here: • Real Atari 800 - M.U.L... ). The wee bit off-keyishness is due to the fact that the Atari sound chip could only be addressed with 8bit frequency values, which sometimes do not hit the harmonic scale frequencies exactly. It is amazing how the programmers/computer musicians back in the day managed to work around these deficits and produced earworm tunes like this!
