DCA is also the worst place to have an engine out because you have to avoid all of the P56 restricted airspace.

DCA tower is one of the best. All these comments stating unprofessionalism baffle me. Pilot wanted to troubleshoot before making deciscions, likely contacted company prior to the tower on these decisions as it wasnt a major emergency. They should have went straight into Pan Pan, that I agree with. But know DC airspace is tough, navigation and troubleshooting were first on PIC mind. Navigate, maintain, then communicate. Basic training guys.

Great video. Love the graphics. But still lots of errors on the transcription. VASA could definitely use somebody to proof and error check the vids. I offer my services once again. But thanks for the work with the vids

DCA has relatively shorter runways, more complex airspace around. IAD with much longer runways and better ground nav facilities. Wx is a big issue but they also need to balance out their decision with pax & mx handling issues in mind - only if the safety can be guaranteed at either destination.
