Surprised that early into the trip they didn't have a landing weight issue. I would think its time we start looking at equipping large airliners with automated CPR devices (such as the Lucas or Auto-Pulse) due to the time it takes to get on the ground.

Emirates cabin crew are trained in first aid in case of onboard medical emergencies. Emirates aircraft are equipped with comprehensive medical kits and defibrillators for use by the cabin crew. Some flights have the latest telemetry equipment so that ground based medical staff can assess the patients whilst they are still in the air.

I'm always surprised at the inordinate number of guys from Northern Ireland who are involved in aviation (either as pilots as in this case, or as ATC) in airlines and airports throughout the world. There's another video off the top of my head I can think of, an in-cockpit video of a Cathay Pacific 747 landing into Hong Kong, and once again the captain is very obviously an Ulster man. Sad situation. Manual CPR fails more often than many people have been led to believe. Those portable semi-automatic defibrillator kits are now the preferred method. They usually come with child usage instructions and materials. I wonder if they will one day make them part of the standard medical kit on airliners.
@OriginalThisAndThat6 жыл бұрын
Young kids does have more life threatening situations by choking, not because of heart problems (if no illness), so CPR is the last resort and mostly uneffective in cases of air blockages. Its very saddening to hear this conversation with ATC. :(

Aperture Science , What medical reasons do you have for that belief? I personally do not like the lap waiver for children younger than 2 years old. I would limit it to less than 0.25 years. A parent should be able to get an FAA compliant child or infant seat within 91 days of birth.

Would it be because of the emergency, or...probably not, because there was a callsign by the name of Virgin 4C.
@MaxVliet6 жыл бұрын
Sometimes alphanumerical callsigns are used by ATC to distinguish two or more aircraft from each other. I.e; UAE113 and UAE133 might be departing around the same time, to avoid confusion, one of them might use callsign UAE21C.
@maroon99806 жыл бұрын
