As a retired architect. Brutalist is one of my favorite structure. Especially in an area with extreme heat. One of the drawback with a brutalist home. The lack of light (very dark) inside and the quality - it’s cheap to build. But one of its strengths is the durability to withstand any weather. Especially a hurricane. That said, the home is NOT worth $68m, probably cost $5-$10m (top) to build but since it’s in BH. They’ll find a buyer with FU money to buy.

@@frankjames7272 you can paint if you like, it’s your home. But your architect (including myself) will encourage you not to do it. Why? The intention is to let the cement age well with time. Just like an old “patina” paint on a car. What we recommend you do instead? Use accent metal or wood for the doors and windows. For example, maple wood or anodize black iron.

These homes are just too excessive - look at Zuckerberg's Hawaiian "plantation." Why do they need to take so much land away from Native Hawaiians, many of whom can't purchase a home in Hawaii and instead have to buy homes in Las Vegas? Like Thom Hartmann has said, these types of people suffer from a mental illness of always wanting (not needing) more; they are never satiated. Sounds like they can never fill their empty souls, but lack the insight to understand this, so they try to remedy this buy buying, buying, buying, ...
