Yes, rice water has arsenic in it but it barely gets absorbed by the skin ( you can verify this by Googling studies ) .. You can bathe in rice water and it won't do you as much harm as eating a bowl of rice. People also love feeding their babies those rice based snacks. A lot of peoples water is contaminated with straight up arsenic in higher levels than in rice water and showering in that is proven to be fine.
@thetracy10135 жыл бұрын
Hi GreenBeauty, Lets put the arsenic as one thing. What about the parasites (supposedly) from the fermentation process of the rice water getting into the head/brain and that rice water only works well on high porosity hair and will eventually ruin it and regular porosity hair......that’s what us naturals and others want to know.........We trust your research along with your opinion. Thank you for all you do, Sandra

Doctors are trained to diagnose symptoms and prescribe pharmaceuticals. They are not trained to know how to remove arsenic from an organic material like rice. A scientific study is what it takes to understand how to do that (trial-and-error). Fortunately, that has been done, please refer to the References in the description section.

I think the problem here is that too many people are preparing rice water incorrectly and are *not* doing *proper* research. When I came across the rice water I did research on how to proper prepare and use it. During my research I came across videos here on KZbin of the Yao women demonstrating how to properly prepare and apply it to your hair. The videos directions are summarized as follows: *1* They use the first two rinse water from the rice. Which is why they call it "rice *rinse* water" (however since I'm in America I use the second and third rinse waters). *2* Then they add the following: camellia defatted cake, pomelo peel, orange peel and any other citrus and non-citrus peels you want to add to the rinse water. *3* They then boil the rinse water with the items mentioned in step 2 *(NO rice is in the pot).* Everything is boiled until the consistency is thickened. *Personal opinion* I believe the defected camella cake is what thickens the water. And because I don't have defected camilla cake *i* apply camella oil directly to my hair. During the leaving moisturizer phase and *ii* I boil everything down until it is half the original amount. Meaning if I started with 10 cups I boil it down to 5 cups. *4* Once their water becomes thick they store it in a clay or ceramic pot that is always by their wooden stove. They also add the new batch to the old batch. *5* They leave everything to ferment for 7-30 days before using it. According to a Yao woman depending on the household that will determine what they add to their rice rinse water and if it is fermented 7 days, 10 days, 14 days etc. Personally I think all this hoopla about rice water being dangerous is hysteria. It's not a big deal we have been eating the rice for how long? And it hasn't killed us yet. It is also stated the amount of arsenic that may possibly be in rice is too low to be dangerous to our consumption.

A great opportunity to research all the way foods are produced in this country. Most of us have consumed rice and bread(wheat) and for the most part they are saturated with pesticides which we all know causes health issues. It's always a good idea to do detoxing especially of the liver. Not a cure all but a means of protecting ones health.

That's the end of using rice water for me. 😱

@Lexie That's the scary thing. She told us to use it. Now she's telling us it's poisonous. This just goes to show that you cannot believe everything on KZbin. But I have read articles that say the arsenic levels in rice is very, very low and can do no harm. After all..the Chinese live on rice and they are very healthy. But their rice may not be from Amercia. 🤷♀️

@Lexie she said avoid rice grown in the USA. Did you even watch the video?
@rachaeljeje94895 жыл бұрын
@Lexie I doubt she did. She said its okay to buy rice grown outside the USA

@Lexie - There's small amounts of arsenic in everything. The water you drink has it. So don't use rice water rinses everyday. Buy from sources that have a lower content of it. Be Smart not panicked.

I have a question for you... by the way, just discoverer your channel... love it... so back to my question... I am living in Canada on the magnificent Vancouver Island. I want to start doing the rice water. So, if I am buying my rice from an Hindou/Indian store who sell only rice coming directly from Asia and is high quality... will I have this "high" amount of arsenic? I have very long hair that are going thinner so... looking forward to see the results

thank you so much! I would love to learn your thoughts on the use of caffeine in hair care (green tea and coffee). I’m making an herbal acv vinegar infusion with green tea, nettle, and rosemary leaf to help with hair loss + growth, and hair nutrition.

Thank you so much for the info sis! I knew food was contaminated with chemicals but I didn’t know it was this bad tbh. I’ll all for natural foods but now I’ll be more careful with where I get it from. How’s your parsley rebuilding process going?

I'm so glad you made this video. I never got into the rice water craze because I heard early on about the arsenic. I'm just going to stick to onion oil for hair growth & egg masks for my protein lol

What about black rice? I purchased this through Amazon. But does that work better than brown rice?

I have never tried rice water in my hair. Was not interested in it. #gladIdidnt...I did try the onion rinse though for some months and I notice more growth. So thanks for that tip! 👍🏾 Now I'm not doing any of that and it's still growing...

Hi, wasn't sure how to contact you, but I'd like to request something. Could you do a video on how to use scarves as a protective style? If possible, this will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Have you experimented with black rice oil? I just saw a video on black rice and making oil with it for hair growth.
@cfoster68045 жыл бұрын
I used to use it and it absolutely works but after I couldn't find the cleansing agent that the Yao women use with it I just went back to ayurvedic herbs. I get the same results. There's no controversy there over poison or possible bad bacteria from incorrect fermentation. If I have to be worried about all that then I don't want to bother. I use whole herbs only not powders.

Thank you for sharing this information and providing references so that we can further investigate and educate ourselves! I’ve used rice water once but considering the information you presented, it’s highly unlikely that I’ll use it again.

Just be aware of where it comes from, or use quinoa. It's not difficult.
