My brother had meningitis when he was 3 years old, we almost lost him..his heart stopped and doctors had to revive him and after that he had to undergo a long physical thyrapy because his brain was affected and all his left body parts were paralyzed but thank God he is normal today, he walks and does everything and he has his own kids

My son spent his 1st birthday in hospital with bacterial meningitis. Docs said if we're even an hour layer, we would have lost him. So so scary. Still don't know how he got it. Another 5yr old was in as well and she lost her legs. My boy came out okay thank God

Just letting you know if it was the same one as mine. The home my parents took me to after I was born had four kids in it and they all had pneumonia bordering on Meningitis. The house wasn't deep cleaned and my Mum took me as a newborn to there and at four months of age I got Meningitis and Hydrocephalus as the side effects. Still have Hydrocephalus at 66 years old. Drs love me. I am an unusual case. I am still alive. Cheers!

Meningitis is a killer, my friend caught it when he was 24, I had to call everyone to inform them that he had died. A group of us were there at the hospital and we advised his girlfriend who is a great friend of mine. As they got rid of the Meningitis too donate every thing to others, liver, heart, lungs to help others. it was heart breaking as he was dead but being keep alive so that hos organs would be cut out. I would never wish that on anyone.

I was a toe walker, but luckily got away with night splints, special insoles and physiotherapy. Especially the night splints weren't fun either (I had them for about 2 years), but after about 12 years of treatment I'm absolutely fine without any of those things now, even though I still can't roll over on my foot properly.

I started walking on my tip toes when i was 18 years old, after i got a tattoo on my leg onto my ankle.. i was like that for 4 years... eventually i started walking on my feet like normal. drs had no idea what it was, i even went to a physiotherapist and he didnt know what was wrong, i had electrologist, i had all sorts of things going on to try and fix it... but it fixed its self. i was in pain for years, swelled up ankles, balance was horrendous . i had to lean on ppl to stand straight i couldn't put my feet down flat. it was extremely painful. it all started a few days after i got my tattoo!!!!

So what? Let people believe what they want. The doctors were put on this earth by God. They were given the strength and knowledge by God. God has some hand in everything. Just because you don't believe doesn't mean you should bash people for believing. Don't be so judgemental. At least we have hope through our faith. That's the whole reason for it.

@@harrypotterfantime9995 I had a child born prematurely. I had wonderful doctors and nurses who saved her life and mine. I will always be grateful to them, but I did and always will thank God that they were there and that he had given them talent and skills. It's fine if you choose not to believe, but that doesn't mean anyone else need agree and I'm not sure what you get or of someone giving up their faith?

I still have some troubles from it (I can't roll over on my foot properly, to my ankles always hurt) but after 10 years of treatment (night splints, insoles and physiotherapy) I'm fine without any of these. I don't get why there aren't dyalisis clinics like there are in the USA. I see a DaVita kidney care center everywhere even in strip malls. Wouldn't it be prudent for the NHS to begin branching out to specialty clinics to relieve the congestion at the hospitals and allowing for more hospital beds to be added? I know that the hospitals are running well above capacity every day. Just a thought

Beth g You really didn’t understand my post at all. The fact that I am saying “It’s a shame” before listing the negative qualities of some people should, to most people, solidly imply that I do not like how many people turn out. I am not greedy, deluded or competitive, and neither is my husband and our 2 sons. I am an anti cruelty campaigner and a Buddhist so I have dedicated my life to help others live with compassion, wisdom and loving kindness. It’s a shame you jump to such rash and extreme conclusions about others. Maybe read comments twice before making ignorant assumptions about people x.
